  3. finished the R&ER book but still no idea what a "chancery" is, and now i'm reading a book about the wagonways of chat moss

      Google or Wikipedia should be able to help with the definition of 'Chancery' - could this be the legal subject - 'Court of Chancery' by any chance? However, not much connection with Chat Moss, apart from the fact that both begin with 'ch'...!! ;-)

      Well worth a visit, go by rail and sample The Ratty Arms Pub on the main line station, real ale and good food. If you travel back towards Barrow and get off at Foxfield The Prince of Wales is across the road, its a brew pub, and the food is super.

      PS; there's a good pub at Dalgarth as well about a 1/4 mile walk.

  12. so many out there that have my interest, but i can only choose three? 1. eagle rock- just so much detail. 2. crumley & wickhill- being able to look down the valley instead of just one side of it. 3. bottletop colliery- a working conveyer belt to load the wagons
  13. halfmoon colliery is getting there, but college work and mourning over my dog is getting in the way

  16. just had thenovel idea of using a model shipping container as an loco shed

      we use shipping containers with rails inside for storing 2ft gauge loco's. Then just a ramp to get them out. Quick and handy

  17. i've now added a full cab to our beloved 7mm scale shunter

  21. the dried out water tower emergancy with all those buckets of water from the stream to the engine was in the film because it was seen being done by the talyllyn railway a few years before
  22. 7mm scale, but so many gauges, i can't decide, i like them all
