  1. Giving 37423 on @class26 Far North Line, pictured coming under the road bridge, coming into Thurso. Nigel @class26 is totally blown away by it told me to tell @Accurascale Fran to get his finger out and produce the Inverness 37’s 😂
  2. @Accurascale Fran I ordered two Siphon G's a couple of weeks ago but just realised I've ordered the wrong two, is it too late to change the order?
  3. I got to see D9000/55022 in her glory yesterday and it got me wondering, is there many detail differences between the loco when it was with VXC and as it is now as I'm seriously considering buying the model.
  4. Bachmann do 44-0053 'Servicing Point as a start, as well as 44-126 'Single Road Servicing Shed' which is based on Peterborough loco inspection point very easily modelled. Just look on Flickr and the amount of different BR traction from the 70's to the 90's that was serviced there, from 08's, 31's, 37's, 40's, 44/45/46 'Peak's, 47's, 55 'Deltics' were regulars, but 56's, 58's and 60's were often seen in the 90's.
  5. B****r, I didn't realise there was a difference between the GN and GE sets as I was hoping I could run them behind my Accurascale J69. Never mind, close but no cigar 😂
  6. Received my 37423 today and super, super happy. Down side is that I got the DCC ready version, so I'm after the sound chip, but do I also need a Accurathrash speaker as well? As I know they won't be available for awhile yet, do you an approximate idea when I can get one from you?
  7. I'm thinking of using twin slot shelving but I was wondering using Pine timber shelving brackets as an alternative, with foam insulation boards instead of timber to keep the weight down. I appreciate that foam boards are more fragile. Would be great to hear people views, both negative and positive.
  8. At a large terminus station which has lines coming in from two different directions, one line having overhead catenary, would the whole station be wired up or just the platforms that brought the overhead lines into the station?
  9. With Greater Anglia, C2C and Crossrail ‘Aventra’ EMU’s having entered service, I have to ask why South Western Trains units are taking so long? It can’t be down to crew training or route familiarisation as they’ve had some them a considerable time, some must be at least 2 years old now.
  10. Awesome news, but really, do I have to wait until I’m 170 years old before you announce Class 313/314/315/507/508 or 365/465/466 EMU’s 🤪🤪
  11. Thanks for that @Clive Mortimore, so not so much of a whimsy after all 😝. I’m going to have to set the layout at the same side my J69 worked on. Would be nice to see them both working on the layout.
  12. As a pure whimsy, my small section Liverpool St Minories layout is planned to have one of the platforms with a tunnel opening at the opposite end to the fiddle yard, so my Rapido models L44 can run in with some vans to interchange. In my wonderful world, there was a single line connection between Liverpool St (Met) and Liverpool St (BR) with only 4 wheel vans being allowed over it because of the tight curves, but it was closed in the early 60’s when some remodelling was done at Liverpool St (BR). All pure fantasy, but done well, it could be a plausible ‘what if’.
  13. A decent OO scale model of a IKA or FKA ‘Megafret’s’ would be nice. I’m sure Accurascale could do a far better job in allowing it to go around curves without huge gaps in the bodyside.
  14. Would they be seen at Liverpool St station in the late 50's, early 60's? I'd love to have one being shunted along with other NPCCS by my J69
  15. Duly ordered 37116 and 422. please, please, please don't announce any more 37's that I might be tempted by, my wallet will leave me lol
  16. Sorry, I meant 15, not 16, and I forgot to mention that Accurascale had done 55009 as D9009, but it's a simple renumber. Is there a huge visible difference between cast and fabricated bogies, or will those on the model pass the '3ft rule'?
  17. With 55009 now out on test runs with West Coast, apart from domino headcode's (at one end I think), is it as Accurascale modelled it? I believe someone said that it had swopped it's bogies with 55016, cast for fabricated, or vice versa. If someone is in the know, could they confirm please.
  18. No Inverness based 37/0's or 37/4's announced, @class26 won't be happy ☹️😂
  19. I've ordered 68619 and I was wondering if they worked with the 57ft Mk1's suburban's that Accurascale are producing in real life? If not, what would they be seen working in the 1950's?
  20. I looked on Flickr for pictures of 68619 and found a fair number of them at Liverpool St, so it just got me thinking on using the Minories plan in modelling a small section of the station. Struggled to find a decent track plan of Liverpool St station in the late 50’s, early 60’s, so I’ll ask here, without too much alteration, could the Minories plan be used for certain platforms? Eg 9 to 11 etc?
  21. I’ve recently ordered a Accurascale J69, 68619, the Liverpool St ‘pet’ loco simply because I liked it, and wondered if the Minories layout could be adapted for a section of Liverpool St station, albeit a small section? You could still keep that ‘cramped in’ and ‘overlooked’ look, busy schedules, so constant movement of trains to keep you busy. I assume that 68619 ran under the wires, so you could have interesting mix of steam and early diesel locomotives, plus EMU’s (if they we’re ever available in RtR). Thought’s please.
  22. just wondered as @class26 is doing the Far North Line, just wondered if one ventured up that far?
