RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted September 4, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 4, 2022 We are in France right now, but this is a few mins walk from Sherry's flat. Talking to the ticket clerk the other week, the annual costs for maintenance are in 6 figures, so an accident that stops them earning is bad enough, but one with - it is said - an engineer injured is quite horrid. Let's hope he recovers fully. Oddicombe beach has a number of businesses, the most prominent of which is a bar/restaurant called 3 Degrees West, where the food and drink are reasonably priced, given the locaion. They will also suffer if the Cliff Railway is out of use for a period. We bought annual seasons for the Cliff Railway a few weeks back....

RMweb Premium kevinlms Posted September 5, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 5, 2022 1 hour ago, eldomtom2 said: Unfortunately now confirmed as a fatality. In a statement, the chairman of Babbacombe Cliff Railway from Lindsay Yelland told ITV News: “All of us at the railway are devastated by the death of a dearly-loved engineer yesterday in a tragic accident unrelated to the operation of the railway. "Unrelated to the operation of the railway" hints at a personal incident. But I guess Andy Y will be locking this to prevent speculation.
RMweb Premium Siberian Snooper Posted September 5, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 5, 2022 An updated report on the BBC Spotlight news is due shortly.
RMweb Premium Siberian Snooper Posted September 5, 2022 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 5, 2022 The report has indicated that it may not have been an accident, but there's no foul play. I don't wish to start any speculation. The railway and the beach, remain closed, until the HSE have finished their enquiries.
