Here we go for part two. I managed to get the second frane done, slightly quicker than the first so not quite so boring.
I made up my own internal rocking compensation at one end, not pretty but works very well. It took a couple of goes to get the ride hieght correct.
The buffer castings needed a little work as the hole was block, to half way through and the boss to go into the buffer beam was to large, not normally a problem, but these are D shaped. The axle boxes and springs cleaned up nicely and fitted well.
As the wagon is 200mm long it was slightly under weight when finished. I needed to add almost 100gm. Lead here seems to be non existant, so I used whitemetal salvaged from various kits. I started by block up a box on the underside to cast straight on to the wagon. Well the idea was sound but the exicution was cr#p. But it work the wieght directly cast to the wagon, just not as neat as I wanted. But as I am hoping it will be wheels down on the layout it will not show.
After a good scrub a bit of brass black on the edges, another good scrub, we managed to get a coat of primer on in. I am pleased with the way it went together, I have made two from the same stable and would recomend as a good value.
