Right amongst the other things I have been doing, I have got this Parkside wagon finished. It has been a while in the workshop but is now ready to be possibly weathered when I have done some experiments.   It was finished in Precision SR wagon brown and a flat varnish after the transfers where fixed. The brown for some reason here always looks washed out in the photos.   I will soon have to get the layout started as I almost have a small goods train, with the wagons almost fi

Have almost got this finished.   All in all I am pleased with it. I have to blacken the tie down loops, and possible do some weathering on it. For such small side rails there are a lot of transfers to add. One has to be selective on the sizes too. The SR are tacken from LSWR on the HMRS sheet as they seem to be slightly smaller.     I had a devils own job with the buffers and coupling, the buffers because they are designed with 8BA nuts, with no where to put them. I reth

WAGONS A SMALL SELECTION THAT ARE ON THE BENCH.

Here are a few wagons which I have been working on for a little while, in between other items.   First off we look at the LSWR machinery wagon. This is almost finished as far as the painting goes. I will be adding transfers soon if I have any small enough. Then it is a dose of varnish and some light wethering posibly.   Next is a Haywards MR refrigerator van. This is now waiting for some MR transfers which I will order after my holiday. I have modified the brakes

LSWR 12 TON MACHINERY TRUCK (2)

Here we go for part two. I managed to get the second frane done, slightly quicker than the first so not quite so boring.   I made up my own internal rocking compensation at one end, not pretty but works very well. It took a couple of goes to get the ride hieght correct.   The buffer castings needed a little work as the hole was block, to half way through and the boss to go into the buffer beam was to large, not normally a problem, but these are D shaped. The axle boxes

I mentioned I bought a wagon from Dragon Models. Well decided to give it a go, and have a little break from the locos. This wagon was bought to go with some other wagons I have. And others I want to get. My idea is to build up a farm moving train. I have the machinery wagons, a horsebox to these I want to add a few more, which will include a box van and some cattle wagons. These would also be able to be used individually too.   This is what you get in the box (well poly bag). First imp

Just as a little distraction. I decided to construct some wagons. The first is part of this block. The reason being is that sometime in the near future when we get into our house I want to play trains, you know the sort of thing build a layout etc. I thought that if I had some stock, it would give me the push I need     Having decided that I will build a loco for myself my thinking was that I ought also have something for it to haul. As the choice of the my first self build will e
