(the Humbrol tins have been there ages)

No sorry just books and the tub of Humbrol paints, a few of which I picked up on my way home after a training course.

I saw a bundle of premium Hornby Mk2s in blue and grey at Rails of Sheffield for 95 pounds.

If you want a proof, look at their website.

A link would be handy

I don't wish to sound over -critical....

They're Mk3s.

They are Hornby's rather ancient "Mk3 shaped" tooling.

You'd be better off with Oxford Rail's recently released Mk3s for £5.25 more per coach.

(yes, I know they currently only do the loco hauled versions at the moment)

Just because someone labels a thing "Bargain" does not mean it's a bargain.

Apart from that; well done.

Another Ian Allan in Birmingham update:

Bachmann 150s in Centro livery £105

Class 08s £78

L&YR 2-4-2 tanks £78

And plenty of tins of Humbrol acrylic paint left in the red tub

Picked up a Collett Goods 32-304A (Churchward Tender) for £70 in Ian Allan Brum today.

I queried the price as I thought I had misread it but it scanned @ £70

Hattons have it at £97.71!

Looked like another on the shelf behind it (LH cabinet couple of shelves above where the Oxford Rail locos are.)

Transport Models in Preston are having a big sale

Indeed they are, many thanks for informing the forum of this! I popped in today, and they have 25% off all coaches, wagons, tools & supplies (including paints, plastics etc) and all second hand items. Also 10% off Bachmann and 15% off Hornby locos. This results in some very good deals, including the new Oxford Rail MK3s for £25.88...the cheapest I’ve ever seen them.

The second hand goodies include (amongst other manufacturers) some Bachmann locos & stock, and this is what I bought:

post-21664-0-79504200-1533212044_thumb.jpeg

All for just over £30. There are plenty of ballast wagons (2 axle), and lots of MEA coal wagons for around £7 with the discount.

The sale is brought about by unfortunate circumstances relating to the premises of the shop, 'Oyston Mill'. Stock reduction is taking place due to the unknown outcome of court processes and possibly asset sales (including the mill), arising from the mill's namesake owner and his well publicised arrears.

It is time to support our local model shops, use them or lose them.

Thanks,

Jack.
