If I have done this correctly an image of the flyer that is avilable at Warley with the details of the models, should be attached.

Please email the LT Museum to register your interest.

Thank you very much for posting about this.

I have been hoping for months that these two models will be produced in due course.

I have just sent an email expressing my interest.

Hopefully they will both be produced.

Thanks for that, email sent so hopefully enough interest is generated to go ahead with this project but as long as they are going to use the new Bachmann tooling for this model i.e.working lights, detail.

You're assuming then, that the older and newer toolings are compatible and that Bachmann would be able to mix and match parts from the old (cab fronts etc.) with the new. It would, I agree, make sense for them to be so, but then again we've had similar counterintuitive situations in the past (e.g. the Brighton atlantic apparently having no tooling in common with the GNR one).

Time (and Bachmann) will tell....

There's new tooling?

Yes in Bachmann's forthcoming new release of the revised/re-tooled Class 20 which will initially come in the DRS Blue, DRS Compass and Harry Needle livery, there is no release date yet.

Considering it's just an expression of interest atm it is highly likely it will be the new tooled 20 that will get the heritage makeover which will look fantastic in OO and I'm sure it would sell-out.

The new tooling is for the 20/3 sub class with features that are not on the other types of class 20s. The tooling would be incorrect for 20142 and 20227.

I don’t assume. The new tooling will have lights (at last).

Yes, indeed. The ends are quite different and it would surprise and please me greatly if the LT models turned out to have lights. However, I think the likely outcome will be that the LT models will use existing tooling and not have lights.

Yes correct but thought at least Bachmann would be adding the lighting feature on these models, if not then that would be disappointing but we shall see what happens.

Email sent, be great to see this come to fruition. Presumably they need to be confident of shifting a fair few before they will commission. That being said, did they do a similar expression of interest for the special liveried 66's or take a punt? A 20 in this livery would find a home in many a collection I'd wager.

On a side note, who owns the real life version of 20142?

Registered my interest today - received the following.....

"Hi Adrian,

Thank you for registering your interest in this product, at this time it is not something which we are planning to produce as we have not had enough interested registered.

Kind Regards.
Jennifer"

Thank you for posting this. This is a shame that their hasn't been much interested. Although I suppose that if they were to be produced it would be a minimum of 500 each meaning that LTM would want to feel assured that they were going to sell and at the moment it doesn't appear like they would.

Hopefully these will be produced in the future.

If they do go ahead in the future it would have to encompass the new tooling which may be the reason they have opted out because of not being able to use the forthcoming new tooling for these two Class 20's thus putting too much risk on the project.

I think the new Bachmann tooling for the Class 20s is for the 20/3s only (306, 311 and 312). I haven't seen that the new tooling is for all Class 20s by Bachmann thus meaning that these locos would use the existing tooling.

Apologies I thought Bachmann were re-tooling the Class 20 to suit all variants like Hatton's are doing with the Class 66 as per today's announcement.

Maybe Bachmann can learn from Hatton's going forward???

Not to my knowledge. As far as I am aware the other Class 20 announcements/releases will not have the lighting feature. Although in 2018 you would think that directional lighting would be a must...

If that's the case then it is pretty poor from Bachmann not to include certain features across the whole class especially the lighting.
