s182ggu
As we are now only four weeks away from Wycrail '18, this is an unashamed 'bump' to raise the topic up but also to remind those of that may be considering a visit to this year's show, that as well as the amazing collection of layouts that will be on show, there is a superb catering service providing an amazing selection of CAKES! Please make a note in your diary now and come along and enjoy the show!

St. Simon
Hi, I'll be helping Graham_Muz with his Canute Road Quay for the day, one of the few times I'll be operating rather than stewarding! Simon
rob D2
I looked on the website but it doesn’t really tell you anything about the layouts going. Is there any DE at all ? Best regards
298
I looked on the website but it doesn’t really tell you anything about the layouts going. Is there any DE at all ? Best regards I have a similar issue finding layouts that suit my eclectic interest, but Wycrail always delivers for me in this respect and I try to undertake the 170 mile round trip every year. Considering the hobby's premier show in a few weeks doesn't do much better in this respect (in your case using the 50 yr old and outdated "Modern Image" tag), I taken to searching for layout information if I don't recognise the name, which is easier for home outline layouts than my favourite foreign ones. rob D2
I do t know why they don’t make it easier. I went to the Forest of Dean show primarily because of one DE layout I reckon rally wanted to see.....if I know what they represent I can make an informed choice, esp as wycombe is 65 miles away now ( although born and bred in Marlow)

rob D2
Fair enough, it’s not a criticism as most shows are the same. Maybe people in general aren’t as specific as their desires and of course the public isn’t at all

Coach bogie
Just got back. Outstanding show. Well done everyone. Added bonus, my wife just walked to John Lewis and told me to take my time. From the number of bags, more was spent at John Lewis than by me in the show! Mike Wiltshire

RMweb Gold Graham_Muz Posted November 4, 2018 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 4, 2018 Thanks to all exhibitors, traders and visitors alike that made this year’s Wycrail exhibition a success. We hope all that visited had a good time. If you enjoyed the show and why not get in touch and become a member www.hwdrms.org.uk It was also interesting to note that I spoke with a number of families, obviously new to to the hobby that had been watching, and the word enthralled used more than once, by The Great Model Railway Challenge on Chamnel 5 then had seen our show adverting around the town and came to the show for the first time. So all in all good for the hobby. Thanks again

RMweb Gold bcnPete Posted November 4, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 4, 2018 Another good show and mix of layouts and trade - arrived about 10:30am and I think the car park was suffering from popularity so parked in a free car park found about 3 minutes walk from the show. Whilst no BR Blue there for my particular interest, it’s always nice to see good modelling - my fave three layouts are in the pics below. Congratulations to the HWDMRS Junior modellers team who I thought had produced a very credible layout Left with a few tool purchases from Squires and finally met up with Mark (46444) who I have been talking to on the forum for almost 10 years! Quick chat with ‘Missy’ Julia, Mark Fielder and Chris Nevard rounded off a nice 1/2 day. Thanks to all the organisers - next years date already in the calendar Canute Road Quay... Hounslow Sidings... Irish narrow gauge (sorry but layout name escapes me)...

PenrithBeacon
Hounslow Sidings has one of those funny square thingies on it and apparently this gives a reference to an RMweb thread. Couldn’t use it onSaturday because no internet in the hall. Does anybody know the thread?
