I'd just like to say on behalf of Glenn and I a big thank you Steve for the very enjoyable afternoon strolling round the Swanick site with yourself.

It certainly looks like being an event that's well worth attending for diesel enthusiasts and modellers alike.

Dear All

I know it is going to be a large exhibition with lots going on. However, I hope some of you will find your way up to the first groundfloor of the HMRS building (accessible from the Matthew Kirtley Museum building) to have a chat about railway wagons.

Don’t to forget to visit our Sponsors/Supporters from the “Model Press”

Located at the following stands in building B:

BRM / RM-web B16

Hornby Magazine B42

Railway Modeller B43

Please collect your free copy of the Railex show guide when you purchase your tickets, this will help you find your way around the extensive Swanwick site and ensure that you do not miss anything.

New for this year, is a Mini Bus shuttle.

This will run from outside the front of Swanwick Station and to the West Shed, building G.

On its return journey it will call at building F for the HMRS and Matthew Kirtley Museum, it will then stop of at Building E the Road Transport Museum, this is also close to the Café and Toilets.

It will then return to Swanwick Station and terminate, before starting another trip.

Frequency is planned for 4 trips per hour , and Vehicle capacity is for 17 people.

This shuttle is intended for some of our older customers who may find the prospect of a 10 minute walk a daunting task. We would as our more mobile customers to please give priority to people less mobile than themselves.

If you are able to walk easily around the site this will enhance your visit, as there is plenty to see and photograph as you explore the venue.

Toilets are located at:

a/Building A Station on the Platform

b/Outside the front of the Station

c/ Outside the Café

d/ In Building G the West Shed

I'd just like to re-iterate for those of you thinking of visiting the event for the first time - one of the joys is that of discovery, all the layouts and attractions are not located in one place, so go and explore and be surprised by what you find :)
