Fat Controller
I'd go with it being a Class 22, because of the big ventilation grill on the middle of the side. The train is interesting; are those some form of pontoon on the last couple of wagons?

I am thinking of the 8X00 headcode. cheers
The Deluder
37254 failed on the overnight engineering train on the mule near Honiton last night blocking early morning passenger trains. Rescued and presumably returned to Riverside this morning.

I did a lot of locospotting in that lane years ago; trains seemingly every few minutes but plenty of time for lemonade and sandwiches in between. In the Autumn there were always plenty of conkers in the woods nearby. This was all pre anorak days when train spotting was simpler; all you had to do was underline your ABC's! Brian.

Wonder if someone could come up with a modern equivalent - database of equipment in an iOS/Android app that lets you simply take a picture of the equipment and the app reads the number and automatically marks it as spotted, also noting time and location. RMweb Premium GWRPhil Posted May 15, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 15, 2018 With all those photos from earlier I thought that was it for the day. Then I checked real-time trains and 621V Fairwater Yard to Plymouth Ground Signal 132 was running early and I’d be able to catch it. So here’s a few pics from stoggy Lane (between hemerdon and Tavistock junction from a line point of view)

RMweb Premium GWRPhil Posted May 31, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 31, 2018 (edited) A few pics from today. Only just got. The 654L moorswater to aberthaw was running late and so was held at Plymouth to let the 0925 Plymouth to Aberdeen service leave first. Would normally have gone and taken a few good pics of the loco and wagons with interesting weathering. Unfortunately as it was running late I had about 60 seconds to get back up the platform to catch my train which was running on time. D826
Flipping ‘eck - really don’t like the airline type seating in that shot - and you’d be hard pressed to enjoy the views on your journey in that pair of seats on the right. The idea that travelling by train is an alternative to the car with comfort and the ability to enjoy the journey has been eroded to the point it almost counts for nothing. Cram em in, lowest common denominator ergonomics don’t do anything to encourage rail travel. I know, I know, it’s the DfT..but really ?
