  1. I have noticed these in numerous photos and videos. I think these were InterCity liveried coaches that were painted over in Regional Railways colours, but to the InterCity template. None seemed to get the 'Regional Railways' titles, though.
  2. I don't know how it has taken me so long to discover this thread. What a fantastic layout. Absolutely my era as well - every bit of stock appeals to me. I will certainly be following this from now on!
  3. Don't get me wrong about the Virgin ones - I know there will be plenty of demand for them and I certainly hope for those that do model the late 90s that they are made. I think Farish would be mad not to release some this year. I have quite a few of the blue/grey MK2As by Farish, but I would certainly still welcome some more (whether A, B and/or C) from Accurascale. I still personally wouldn't replace my Farish ones, though. It would be great to add more versions for variety.
  4. Not sure how I missed this last year, but I'll certainly pick up a few of these for my Yeoman 59.
  5. Accurascale have had plenty of feedback on their N gauge survey suggesting MK2 coaches (particularly MK2B/C), so maybe we will start to see some of this stuff in the absence of Farish producing such staple items. I agree with most of your suggested subjects, with the exception of Virgin since I personally draw the line at about 1994.
  6. My vote would be MK2B/C coaches and potentially also MK2D. I am very happy to see how much support there is for MK2B/C on this thread.
  7. I bought a variety of the older N gauge ones already and they are great. Even if a fair way into the future, it would still be great to see some of these style ones, though.
  8. Definitely hoping for these in N later, as there were plenty in the trains I would like to model from the 1980s. Fingers crossed.
  9. Hoping for MK2A BFKs (NSE original, blue/grey, InterCity), MK1 SKs, MK2A TSOs in various liveries, etc. More 'things to haul' than 'things to haul nothing'.
  10. Given the continued lack of attention to 'staple' coaching stock and the rare runs of TSOs that fly off the shelves within days/weeks when they are released once every several years, I really hope other manufacturers step in with some offerings such as MK1, MK2B/C and perhaps MK2D. At least the alternative MK2 variants would offer a little more variety, just in case Farish ever to decide to do another run of MK2A and MK2F. As someone mentioned the lack of a 'Dutch' 31 earlier, this is something I was discussing with another fellow of this parish recently. Still no 31s or 47s in Dutch, yet 3 different 37/0s done to date, as well as one in departmental grey. That said, I'm pleased to see 20172, 31130 and 31423 - all of which I am likely to take.
  11. I managed to miss this as well. An interesting choice. I'm sure a purchase won't be resisted.
  12. Fantastic announcement. I've long wanted a 45 to represent 1980s Trans-Pennine services, but I know an original 44 will also prove irresistible. I can see at least one each of the 44, 45 and 46 in my future! Well done to Rapido for recognising this gap in N gauge and doing something about it.
  13. Interesting to see that the BR Olive Green 12T ventilated van (373-704) delivered a few months ago, originally advertised as '12T Ventilated Van Plywood Doors BR Departmental Olive Green' turned into an exact re-release of 373-702A from 2003, i.e. a planked doors version with no differences at all.
  14. Agreed. A late 80s 37/4 in Intercity Mainline with white numbers would be great.
  15. I also have two of the 6-pin ones and, like yours, they are great runners. They were poor with the factory-fitted decoders, but once I replaced those with Zimos, they were great. Back to the subject of the Next18 versions, when mine stopped working I seem to recall it made a very brief shorting sound before it stopped. Do you recall whether yours did the same?
  16. I have experienced the same with 33114, also a Next18 version from the same batch. I remember someone (yourself?) posting about this a few months ago and I asked whether you got it sorted, but I don't think there were any further replies to that thread. I guess mine will be heading to DCC Supplies on my next visit to the UK, so I can expect a similarly hefty bill if indeed it is the same issue. Disappointing.
  17. And it looks like my patience has been rewarded! I'll certainly be taking numerous 20/40 footers to sit on my KFAs and FSA/FTAs - particularly the older style ones.
  18. MK2B/C coaches would be top of my list from Revolution. I can't imagine Farish will be planning those, given how long it took the MK2Fs to appear and given the length of time that they wait for re-runs of 'bread and butter' MK1/MK2 TSO liveries.
  19. Is M5364 a prototypical running number for the blue/grey Trans-Pennine branded coach? I am looking at branding a couple of N gauge ones like this, but the only running numbers I have found mentioned anywhere are 5323 and E5520. Thanks.
  20. I like the sound of your plans. I'm planning to use some of the Regional Railways MK2A TSOs to customise to Provincial livery, i.e. the lower grey band to be resprayed to InterCity beige and 'Trans-Pennine' branding to be added to some. The missing pieces will be the MK2A FK and MK1 BG, though.
  21. I agree with both points. A blue/grey MK2A TSO is an absolute staple and a quick-selling limited run every half a decade is clearly not enough to satisfy customer demand. I also hope another manufacturer takes on the MK2B/C, as even if Farish did, you can bet the releases will be few and far between.
  22. Class 31 no. 97204/31970 in RTC livery had them, but they were very subtle and easy to miss on this particular loco because it was orange on red. Edit: Only after it was renumbered to 31970, it seems.
  23. Indeed. They were pretty standard on that livery. My question was more around whether any/many did not have them painted on, as per the Farish model.
  24. The same video features a 27 hauling the same set at the end. It seems some of the ScotRail livery MK2Zs had the silver window features but at least one did not. I actually didn't realise so few MK2 non-aircon vehicles received the full ScotRail livery.
