I note that the cats are on the comfy chair and the dog is on the floor! Looks like the cats are in charge.

Always amazes me that the GWR did not rename Edward VIII after the abdication.

Your modelling skills certainly influences us and I agree about never having too many GWR pannier tanks.

Looking back to the introduction of TT3 back in 1957 it is interesting to see how the range was introduced and expanded. 1957 - 3F and Castle 1958 - no new locos 1959 - 08, 31 and Merchant Navy 1960 - Britannia 1961 - Prairie 1962 - no new locos 1963 - 104 DMU The TT120 introduction looks to be progressing at a similar pace but under the spotlight of the internet.

You promised you had posted your last cracker joke! Be careful.
-
Would that be for the new line into the forest, once the bridge has been rebuilt?

In the absence of any Christmas crackers in this household I am pleased to inform you that I enjoyed my last Penguin bar this evening! Who is a Penguin's favourite family member? Aunt Arctica. Hat, coat, exit stage left.

Sending my best wishes to all my railway modelling friends for a prosperous and happy 2024. Currently watching the fireworks from around the London Eye and wondering just how much pollution the Mayor has paid for!

Jim’s “out and about with GBRf” thread

Can I suggest a pint of milk or cola as a substitute? Happy New Year and thank you for the wonderful updates you entertain us with. -
About 25 years ago we had a wonderful local councillor who wanted to stop all fireworks except for organised displays. Only trouble was the local organised display had music so loud that all local cats and dogs are more upset by the music than the fireworks! Said local councillor said he was not bothered about pets as it was up to their owners to look after them. I tried to get a noise injunction on the display but failed as it was run by the local council who couldn't care less about the residents. Pleased to say I have moved and we have one councillor who really works for the local community.

They wouldn't have scaffolding! Too much effort to put that up.

In the late 60s and early 70s when I worked on a Saturday in Platform Two Model Railway Shop in Wimbledon Broadway all second hand item were always tested in front of the customer on the oval test track. For new items we always asked the customer if they would like to see their purchase working and most said yes. A few said they did not want the box opened as they did not take their purchases out of the box and simply put them in a display cabinet. It was for that reason we never opened a box until asked to by the customer. For mail order items boxes were not opened but second hand items were tested.
