In view of the quality of jokes seen here recently, I will not spoil things! Who is a Penguin's favourite family member? . . . . . . . . . . . . Aunt Arctica! Hat, coat, exit stage left taking the groan button with me. 😇

Mass cull of ticket offices

Those in power are always keen to reduce the number of people in a job and to keep any pay rise for those people to an absolute minimum. In view of this I wonder whether we should support them in those ideas and reduce the number of MP's by 20% at each general election and make their pay increases the same as they have allowed for hospital staff and other public sector workers? Think of all the money the country would save once we got down to 100 MP's who should also have to make all visits by public transport. -

I worked for LUL at West Brompton from the last days of Silverlink until May 2016 by which time London Overground was very well established. The service under Silverlink was dreadful with two three coach trains an hour if you were lucky and the favourites to be cancelled were the rush hour services. -
Would that be a Victorian or Edwardian hat and coat?

Mrs Obi-Jiff's latest handbag probably wasn't worth the money unlike your model but if you were wise you didn't tell her that piece of news!

Is that the coal sorting out the bridge or the bridge sorting out the coal! 🤔 😁

I fear that Dr B would have concluded that while you have a very good service the station is not being used profitably due to the lack of passengers and he would have wanted to close it. What a terrible thought that would be.

One of my cats used to see my mum get the ironing board out and as soon as she turned her back the cat was on the ironing board stretching out.

Current layout is 8' by 1'. The big layout planned for the future will be 10' by 2' on one wall and 16' by 2' at 90° on the next wall. No room in any room that would allow a roundy roundy style layout so end to end is the only option.

I have to agree with you on the looks front but it sadly means I can't use Lion on my layout. Thank you for your very swift response.

That means the train would fit into the platform on my layout but being an end to end layout the loco needs to have couplings on the front so it can pull the train tender first and I fear that "Lion" does not! Is it possible to fit couplings on the front of the loco?

The above post reminded me that I had not posted my October 2022 shots from a very enjoyable day on the RHDR with Talking of Trains.- 437 replies

You would have a job to take a photo of a train and that bridge at Clapham Junction without a bus being in the shot! -
That is the sort of eBay listing I like if I find it and others don't!

I am on the above trip today. Nice sunny start from Euston but as soon as we got to Wales it started raining! Hauled from Euston to Bangor by 67007 Hauled from Caernarfon by 87 seen here at Caernarfon. Seen at Dinas. Waunfawr station building with the driver and guard getting wet in the rain. Having changed trains at Porthmadog we were hauled by Merddin Emrys to Blaenau Ffestiniog where this photo was taken. I travelled in the rear observation coach on the Ffestiniog but the heavy rain meant many of the views were obscured.

Signalman got the signal back to danger a lot quicker than anything else ever moves at Little Muddle!
