  1. I was watching the West Hill Wagon Works live stream today, they were talking about the Hatton's 66 and said that basically it was Dapol that were manufacturing them for Hatton's. Can there really be any truth in that? (It was after midday so not expecting it was an April fool)
  2. Thanks all. So would the service from Newcastle - Swansea still have been loco hauled after 94? Or straight to HST at this point? I'm modelling South Wales from 1995 - 2000 so trying to see if my Swallow Class 47 can earn it's keep prototypically. Thanks again. Rich
  3. Hi everyone. I'm trying find out when the Cross Country Class 47 hauled services from York - Swansea ended. I can find pictures until 1993 and 1994 but I was wondering if they went into 95 and beyond? Any information would be great. Many thanks, Rich
  4. Does the "1-out, all out" mean that they want other shops to close if they do?
  5. I assume "We are making plans for a Government enforced 5-6 week despatch operation shutdown We are acting as if this will commence on Thursday 26th March" means that no shop will be able to mail order anything!
  6. Does anyone have any photos of these in Wales in the mid-late 90s?
  7. Thanks very much for the info. The other option I was looking at was 47200 - but I believe this has Class 37 buffers at one end. Do you know if the buffers are interchangeable between Bachmann's 37 and 47 models?
  8. Oh goodness! It's been a long day, 47326 and 47306! - I'll edit the original post!
  9. Sorry to hijack this thread. I'm looking to model 47326 in its late 90's condition. Would 47306 be a decent donor? I've had a look, and it seems right, except the real loco has different marker lights at each end, and I'm not sure if the model does or not? Are there any other differences? (not my photos) Thanks in advance for any help! Rich
  10. My work place is an office of more than 500 people and we've already been asked to stay away and work from home.
  11. It's on the Daily Mail website, so take with a grain of salt, but this might make people's decisions for them.
  12. I'm quite torn about attending. I'm in my thirties, do have asthma but generally this doesn't affect me very often so I'm not high risk but certainly not the lowest risk either. I'm trying to be balanced and sensible so until the last day or so was intending to go as long as it was going ahead. However, it's not around the corner for me. It'll be 5-6 hours of driving and the more layouts and traders that I see aren't going the more I'm thinking it's not worth the trip and the (low) risk of attending. There are still layouts I'd love to see, and people I'm planning on meeting for the first time so it's a real dilemma for me.
  13. Cheers Fran! Are you hoping for more samples by Ally Pally or with CNY and Coronovirus issues is that unlikely?
  14. Fran - do you know what length the models will be over the couplings? I have a set of outers and a set of inners on pre-order and I'm just wondering if they'll fit in my fiddle yard or if I need to extend! Thanks!
  15. Can you use any Plux22 chip or does it have to be the Bachmann one? I have a Lens Silver Plux22 somewhere and I was hoping to use that.
  16. Really think the IHA would be a massive seller. One of the last steel carrying wagons that hasn't been produced. Been around years and still running today!
  17. So it seems that if I ordered H4-66-003 then it'll arrive in January whether it was pre-ordered early or not?
  18. One thing that isn't particularly clear... I paid the extra £10 for air freight of a sound fitted model. This extra £10 was refunded when they said they'd air freight all the models for Christmas. Then the sound fitted models got delayed until early Jan. Will my model still be air freighted with all the others who originally pre-ordered sound, or are all the remaining models on a boat?
  19. This is a really positive announcement overall. Does anyone know if the Swallow MK3s are the old tooling, I assume they are? For me the only things that are really jumping out are the Dutch 31 and Buffer fitted HSTs in Swallow. The really disappointing thing for me is the Class 91. They had 30 years to improve their model, but never did. When a new company came along and did what they should have, the react like this! Poor form really.
  20. I recently reviewed a couple of these on my YouTube channel. See what I thought here:
  21. Just bumping this. Anyone working at Great Western back in the day know this?
  22. Hi All, I was wondering if Great Western (and then First Great Western) ever used their Class 47s for loco hauled services to Wales or was it just down to Devon and Cornwall. I've looked around but can't find any pictures or video of such services, other than 47815 in First Great Western livery stabled at Newport in 2003. In information would be great. Thanks, Rich
  23. My post seems to have been posted above. Not had any experiences with them since, but after my first visit I wouldn't use them out of choice.
