  1. indeed ...... this is my current understanding of the Rapido offer - personalised for the sources I've found and my desire for possible 1948 survivors .... Rapido 1907.pdf
  2. I thought the question was about options for No.110 carrying Marsh-era goods black livery with double red lining rather than Southern Railway black lined with green ( from New Year 1924 ) !!?!
  3. ... together with other Lightmoor Press and Bill Hudson volumes.
  4. Well, if you plonk your 00 loco down on P4 track there's always a little - shall we say - excess play !
  5. More likely to narrow in this case - but with those dirty great lumps of rock below the rails I don't think that's much of a worry !
  6. Probably easier to ask which AREN'T ....... I've established that 967422 is based on a 1930 repaint ( though no idea what it looked like before ) and 967425 is based on a probably post WW2 photo - though, again earlier liveries may not have been significantly different.
  7. Stone sleepers ! I couldn't be bothered to watch twelve minutes of that to find out what station !
  8. Rosyth Dockyard - not the best known of railway works !
  9. At least they could fly .... I don't know how these horses got back on the Brandenburg Gate ! Museum für Verkehr und Technik, Berlin : 16/9/90
  10. Hmmm ............ dunno about the lavs but I've not heard any hoo-ha about second generation units not having retention tanks - as for First Class, the Scotrail and SWR 158s seem to have such areas but haven't been reclassified to 159s ! I believe the 375s & 377s have a similar difference ........ and the Southeastern 377s have not been brought in line with the native 375s so are pretty well restricted to the Maidstone East line.
  11. Well, SWR seem to have their own 158 fleet now - though I don't know whether they work together.
  12. it was coupled to .174 and .172 was seen heading north through Ely later ..... that's all three ex GWR sets ! ( there's also a red ex Gatwick one around - according to Platform 5 )
  13. Sort of ! ............ a batch of 158s were diverted and were 'rebuilt' as 159s in the process ....................... though I've never sussed out what the 'rebuilding' involved.
  14. For a second I thought you meant the TV series was filmed there ! .......... DOH !
  15. I think it's fair to say that Thameslink has NEVER had a pleasant livery on any of its trains since demise of the Network SouthEast toothpaste stripes !
  16. Hmmmm ....... a block train of piped-only wagons is an interesting concept !
  17. Yes an' no - the former home of the other half of the 455 fleet is certainly a one livery/one unit railway but the Networkers ( and 376 ) on Southeastern still carry a pleasant livery in contrast to the long distance drab and matching 707s which have flown in recently. ( can't comment on the current Mereseyrail situation ) Bromley South : 6/4/24
  18. ... which, itself, is much better than the latest SWR drabness - which is unlikely to spread to the 455s before withdrawal.
  19. How many piped vehicles survived at that time without having gained 'proper' vac-brakes ? ...... I've certainly never heard of a VANPIPE or similar coding !
  20. Nobody else* was using round topped wide fireboxes and parallel boilers so it's GOT TO look like a Gresley type ! *for UK use
  21. In the context of rolling stock* there's no reason for a direct link but their archives SHOULD contain vast amounts if info on the fixed assets they're responsible for - such as York station ! * hmmmm .... if a container has no wheels is it rolling stock ?
  22. At least they've used P4 wheels ............. chunky RTR 00 wheels on a layout look SO awful !
  23. A cylinder thing in front of the cab is probably part of a BR AWS system ......... which may or may not be right for your chosen date !!?!
