Freightman 7mm Wagons Kits
Peter Eaton replied to Windjabbers's topic in Modelling Questions, Help and Tips
I hope I can help. Discontinued about 25 years ago now. Yes very nice models in their day. Frank & his Wife selling the kits at 0 gauge shows. I saw him at I recall Shepshed School shows. His last kit was a nice BR fish van. The range seem to be amazingly selling on Ebay at £70 these days. There was a company that I recall had the tooling & set up a web site to produce them later or may just have sold on the then surplus stock. ABS models cast the white metal underframes for the models. Peter IF I could actually get through the shed door I would have dug a few finished models out & photographed them. Could be my Easter challenge there for you -

Hello, The ''ships wheel'' what am I looking for in the photos please? Always ready to learn / see something new. My thoughts are a hand brake wheel on the tender. Thanks, Peter

when our Moon or Planetary exploration is undertaken, steel with thus be manufacture there, a bit like our old ''British Empire'' days, the ships thus transporting the finish materials will be the stumbling blocks as these will also have to be made there, but on arrive can be scrapped & put in the recycling furnaces. l was brought up in the shadows of the Blast Furnaces of Stanton Iron Works in Ilkeston ! . made famous this year with the Hornby Coke wagons.. Plus holiday in Porthcawl for the last 5 years for obvious reasons. Peter

ScotRail HST hit by tree
Peter Eaton replied to MikeB's topic in UK Prototype Discussions (not questions!)
Did a falling tree hit the train. Compared to a train hitting a fallen tree, & you need to see the size of the tree to fully understand the incident. -
Braithwaite tank panels in 7mm scale?
Peter Eaton replied to Mol_PMB's topic in Scenery, Structures & Transport
How strange you ask. The company I attend for weekly payments has just had a coolant tank assembled & it too the same design & the panels are made of moulded GRP material some things never change. Peter -

Sad then, that you do not all see the woolly cat face jumpers. They look so real. But very large. Lucky I used above the word CAT ! -
Hi. as 3D printed if you ask they may print out at the scale you actually require. I purchased a model via ebay & asked & got the required scale. You can ask them, Peter

I reading above was about to ask if as the wagons became insulated, where they pre-heated at the depots thus remaining hot in transit . If the trend of ripening at home was not started at that time ? Otherwise why actually insulate them unless to stop the ripening in extreme hot weather. Thank. Peter

Hi, just catching up. Erewash Valley on the Sunday was closed with Northern trains coming down as far as Alfreton. Plus this again Monday. Sunday though interesting as the trains came into the station wrong line to platform 1. Monday as increased service saw a reversal at Codnor Park Junction. thanks, Peter -
