Worcester Shrub Hill was a Joint Mid. GWR station, as staff vacancies became available they appointed them alternatively to each Company. I don't seem to have saved the date of the 1:500 series map, but I would have thought pre 1920. It was tucked away in some old cabinets in the City Engineers Office when I started there in 1972.

One of the things I found a bit difficult, was finding details of the harness etc., arrangements, I eventually got there.
I know I model in 4mm scale and therefore small detail is lost, so is not worth adding ? But as a retired Engineer, I like to know how things work, are arranged etc., then I go off ...........- 4

Perhaps a few of the alleged model layouts
are models of model layouts.
I agree with Stoker.- 4

The pit props, as stated >>> privet hedge arisings.
I amassed a great pile of cuttings each time I cut the 100' long hedge (that's 200' doing both sides, it bordered a footpath), these were basically the left over ones on top of the hedge... cleared of off shoots and stored in a dry shed for months on end... then trimmed to length.
I didn't use any stabiliser, but it might stop the bark coming adrift, but these have been there nearly 40 years, so not a big problem.Oh, and no it's not my intention to replace them with RTR's etc.,
Some of these hold memories, like feeding my youngest lad at 2am, and then getting on finishing off another paint job... -
Oh, and there's Penlan Colliery and Berthllwydd Colliery wagons too, about 6 of each Colliery I've lettered and another 5 of each as RTR....

I'm glad you like the end result! I'm surprised by the way the window pane, next to the droplight looks opaque in the 2nd photo,
That's probably because it's plastic, different reflective qualities to glass, including the material within the 'sheet'.
Possibly next time, try glass microscope slip covers, they are 5 thou thick. PM/Email me if you want to try some in other stock or the buildings.
But, the model is looking very good, not brand new......

Well thought through and the stock required interesting,
that eureka moment (no fiddle boards 'have' to be attached all the time) is simple in hindsight,
it's the journey there that can be so frustrating.
I shall follow your progress with interest, and hopefully see the layout fully functioning, eventually.

There you are waiting, it seems forever, and then 4 (yes Four) pass you by in 22 secs.,.......
PS: That Irish Whiskey (Jameson's) seems to have a bit of sediment in it, none of the clarity of a good Scotch.

I'm interested, if only because I tried servo's, but the thing that defeated me was the settings box. After I mastered the servo's and the drivers and getting linkages together (for signals - but it's the same as points - limited travel, set speed(s) etc.,) to enable a reasonable travel on the servo to monitor. However I found when attending exhibitions, the linkage on a few items had 'drifted' and trying to get the Setting box to adjust the movement etc., proved to cause me more problems, then again I'm probably cack handed - yes I know I could ring a friend, contact the supplier, but an hour before an exhibition open's is not the time for careful and deliberate thought processes....
I think the whole idea of RC Servo's is very good, and once 'The Knowledge' is there, 'Simples', it's just the diversity of this hobby means there's so many aspects to come to terms with and focus on into a small space.
That is one of the advantages of belonging to a Club, if the Club of course has members who are up there with the knowledge on say, Servo drives, Crane rigging, Telegraph Poles, Harness' on horses etc., ..... I don't belong to a club now, but some 30 years ago I was in the West Midlands EM Area Group.

CK, if you compare the lever positions of the levers pulled off in Wordsell Forever's photo of the Upper Holloway box with the position of your's, your only about half-way there.... unless of course your's it's not a genuine Midland Frame, but a replacement by the BR WR

I like the office building especially, captures the spirit of thing, but, the top of the drain pipe may need to be connected a bit more securely, perhaps through a hole in the facing!!!

I'm sure it has been mentioned somewhere, but when do you anticipate Millport being back in full operation at Wigan - my layout Penlan is booked for Wigan in 2012, will there be a LNWR double act?
I know it was there at the last Show, although being so close to Christmas I had other commitments in West Cornwall that prevented me popping in to see Millport......

Quote ".... I'm not completely sure of which station on the line to model; definitely not Bettws though, I am bored of terminus stations."
Change of heart then

I'm confused, on your Barry Ten entry it gives one Blog, this one, so where's the other one gone?
I'm evidently to old to get how this works, there must be hundreds of interesting things on here and I've little idea how to connect to them.
The hairs seem to have been trimmed

Russ,
Many thanks for the explanation, but it was TIC
- I just forgot to include those 3 letters. I have a Lab/Collie cross, she's always trying to keep groups herded together, be they cattle, sheep, chickens or even humans......
I admit I'm not use to these Blog's jumping about, what's visible is not always the same, and it doesn't appear in my own list of 'postings'....

What Gate?

....it's based on the Gaugemaster photographic backscenes, heavily misted with white through an airbrush.
Many thanks, that's given me an idea..... and I wonder if the Gravetts did something like that, their backscene just manages to be out of focus (like yours, therefore has a precense without attracting the eye - apart from mine wondering how you/they did it).
I should have asked about the tree as well, is it one of Woodland Scenics, and what 'scatter' or 'foliage mat' have you used for the leaves please, or will that be in a Workbench Topic, if we get them,
Pardon, did somebody say have I seen the train in the photo's..... what train!

That's a very nice backscene, is it painted or a photograph. Not to sure about the public hairs in the foreground though - I find digital cameras show up all sorts of things that we are not aware of.........

My first posting, although I've spent a lot of time trying to find anything I'm familiar with .... so, now I may be missing something but apart from the title 'Suggestions please...' I see no other text, just three images..
Edit - now I've posted this comment, there is original text under the photos....... Ooh dear.
