  1. Thanks Southport and Johnster. If anyone reading this has a need for these bogies, give me a hoy as I have a few pair needing a new home. Already awaiting the correct Dean bogies....due to arrive sometime in March I believe Khris
  2. Plastic. Look like a plate type of frame but I am not sure as I am not up on all the intricacies of bogies as such! Khris
  3. Guys, I am talking of the bogies NOT the coaches themselves. Khris
  4. Hi Folks, Wondering if there is a use for the old Triang Clerestory bogies? Are they suitable for other stock or just rubbish? TIA Khris
  5. Shapeways do them. Make sure you need other things to make the postage worthwhile though! I have an order in the basket and need to check on a couple of other items then it shall be placed. There are more than one set type available in as much as they have different setups for the bogie attachment to the coach. Search Stafford Road Model Works on Shapeways. Khris
  6. Thanks Richard....... I am trying to get my head around these things. Since Compound pointed out the E series I am sitting back on my rear end gobsmacked at all the variations there are that all look alike! Khris
  7. Hi, Can someone confirm the coach in the first pic, is a D4 (listed in Russell as a D8) Please? Khris
  8. Incredible pics here! A request if I may....Does anyone have any pics of the Thame Signal box? Please! Khris
  9. Richard, I haven't read all the conversation, just this last part, BUT if the issue is in the photo, would it not be better to get more photo's taken that don't distort the look. I would have thought that if pics are put up here whether they be samples or not, one would ensure they do represent what is trying to be sold, and obviously in this case from what you are saying, it appears, the pics do NOT fairly represent the model! Just my thoughts. Khris
  10. Hi all, Does anyone know of a written list of the compiled mistakes in the Russell books please? I have been trying to search here, but cannot find one and believe that there is one floating about. TIA Khris
  11. Hi Kevin, This doesn't answer your question BUT, I store mine in filing cabinets (2/ hanging file) May or may not suit your situation, but hopefully food for thought! Khris
  12. NOT GUILTY milord! I'm buggerising around with D8, C22, and C23 in the Triang cut'n shuts....a W27 in the Collets and a D30 in the Hornby Cutnshut! And finally they start the earthworks for the shed tomorrow, so with luck it will be up at end of month then I will have to finish retaining walls/fences, get electricals done, insulate and line it and eventually get the layout restarted for the umteenth time. Either way hopefully I will get all that done before being taken a km up the road the the crematorium Khris
  13. Hi everyone, I'm struggling to get the curved fretwork (?) that is between the doors under the windows on Clerestory coaches done. No, I don't have a silhoutte cutter. Been trying the Tamiya putty but doesn't appear to successful. Suggestions would be appreciated! For the record, I am modelling the late 30's period so most was still there. TIA Khris
  14. Well that's January sorted.....what's after that????? Khris
  15. Some of the layout threads like this really could do with an index! Khris
  16. Johnster, If the Comet trusses are brass (which I am assuming they are) why not beef them up with brass strip or angle? Khris
  17. Simon, Apart from the road down the guts ....there is NO straight road!! Khris
  18. Thanks for that. This is starting to make sense now. Khris
  19. Started to hack apart a Hornby Clerestory Brake third coach and have run into an issue. Plans show the guards lookout to be set diagonally opposite with the guards door. Problem is on p206 GWR coaches book 1 there are 2 images that show the handed versions, and BOTH have the guards door immediately behind the passenger compartment. Can anyone clarify please?? Khris
  20. Putting that aside you have the issue of fishplates NOT being a secure electrical contact unless you solder them. Once solder to the rail you lose any ability of expansion and/or contraction whether it be in an airconditioned room or not! There is always expansion and contraction. Khris
  21. To me , limitations or not, the cutter does the hard work in actually marking out the plasticard/styrenne, which when done by hand is very hard work to get and keep it all square! Khris
