  1. It was Wire brushes....NOT like what has been shown here! The strands were coming out from the start of use! Khris
  2. Just as a word of warning. I have bought these from a seller in China and the bloody things started to disintegrate from the moment I started to use them. Fortunately with a bit of help from Ebay I got my money back BUT I can assure you all I am a damn sight more careful where I purchase them from now! Khris
  3. Just to refresh my memory....whose models had the wrong roof curvature? I seem to recall one of them was out a lot and needed a lot of work to get the roof profile correct! I have some with me at the moment (Coopercraft) and the books, because I recalled this being mentioned and wasn't going to start until I was sure. Khris
  4. Easy remedy...do a search for the correct section of the forum and ask Stafford Road for the answer. I cannot remember his name or I would tell you.
  5. With the vents off centre on the suburbans....was it the same distance as on the corridor stock. (Don't have drawings to hand to check) Khris
  6. My use of static m odel was probably NOT the best word to use, BUT I was referencing it to the use of umpteen motors to run everything on it. I also said I could not see many people standing around fiddle farting with all the controls to actually run it as a crane operating. (Meaning of course lifting and lowering) It does NOT mean it would not be moving about on a train as has been mentioned. I think the concensus, before and since is much in agreement with my sentiments. However it does not mean it isn't a great model to have on a layout and I do hope it sells very well for them. 7. So really, the handedness of these coaches only really applies if you are modelling the era when they were first released? It seems as time when on, anything applied, so long as there were enough seats. Would that be a fairly accurate summation? khris
  8. At the end of the day, in all honesty, How many modellers will actually want to stand there and operate the crane? Admittedly there will be the odd one but very few I should imagine. More often than not they are used as a diorama display on a layout and not much more. Khris
  9. Thanks Mike, but the plan is to cut n Shut or scratchbuild. Hence the need for a plan. Khris
  10. Thank you. I haven't received your reply yet exc ept for Rich's response to you where I have seen your response....I have no doubts it will get here I'll have to order one when I get back from our trip. Thanks for that, Appreciated. Khris
  11. A Butcher (81C) Is there an update or pics on progress? Also while I am at it, the Steadtler Fineliners you mentioned on Mikkel's thread, have you used them for lining yourself and if so how did they go? They sound OK so long as they work and don't rub off, but I would need to know they worked first given the Postage charge!
  12. Hi, Does anyone know of a source for this diagram please? Want to have a fiddle about while away. TIA Khris
  13. I'm in Oz and it is still a lot cheaper to buy from the UK than this guy! Khris
  14. Northroader, Hope you don't mind a suggestion. Check your verticals with a spirit level if/when you continue on. Verticals won't change. The sky is bloody amazing though. I love the way you have got the clouds done. Khris
  15. Willie Whizz, while I agree it is a good idea, it may NOT have occurred to the Owner to do it. That said it does say quite clearly on the website that it is a part time business. I certainly wouldn't put the phone number on it though. That fact that a responding email has been sent to the original sender should suffice to confirm that the email has been received in the first instance! Khris
  16. There are a couple of videos on Youtube which give a mix of water / isopropyl. Theer is a mix for thinning and a mix for cleaning the airbrush. I have used them and they work well. If you watch the whole video he explains it all. Found it:
