Well,
'ere in the colonies, I just picked up my copy of this mag from the Newsagents.
(no smartarse comments about us colonials please )
There was a piece about Peter Osbourne backscenes. I have been trying to get to the site but to no avail.
Anyone with a little info?

Did they have tool vans that were converted (I think pythons)? There are certainly brass ones available.

Update:
10 ton Covered Goods wagon convert to a Stores wagon. Brake gear seems to be the only difference from the drawings in: Great Western wagons Plan book by Russell.
Given I am not familiar with how leakproof your open wagons were, would that not have been an issue?
Or would it have been bagged or boxed in the open wagon?

Paul,
In the index listings for Cowan Sheldon cranes it gives page numbers. After that it says bc-8.
Could you or someone else enlighten me on what bc-8 is please?
The index pdf DOES NOT have that info!

Sorry Michael,
I wasn't having a shot or anything, but rather agreeing with you.
What I was saying re cost was about the costs of reorganising all the etches. not just loco, but also the wagons into a a more practical mix.
ie: wagons could still be a few to a sheet but the more popular ones together and the not so popular ones together.
but also mentioned was the quality of castings as well.......at least they know what is what with them.
Khris
From the post that was posted by Lofty, I am assuming (I know I should NOT assume) that they have needed to get a sheet etched with 6 different wagons on it for 1 wagon.
The way you have done it Michael, makes the most sense. all things kept together.
Unfortunately for Falcon it is just another cost burden, if they take this route.
Hope they can succeed.

FWIW, I am with John on this. I avoid Microsofts products as much as I can! Been using win 10 for a while now and still find it a PITA Most other items/apps I use are Open source and reliable. My son uses Office at work and says it is great, BUT, every 30 secs he is cursing it as it crashes so often. Khris
Darwinian,
if you are going to the trouble of fibre optics....wouldn't it be worth the extra step of diodes to have them work bidirectionally as well?
Khris
Jason,
If anyone didn't know that the Comet site was still up with the info in sections that are easily manageable, and you went straight to the Wizard site, then YES it IS a terrible website!
You do not have options on the site to filter a lot of stuff out of the way.
That said they are great to deal with!
Khris
Rob,
In fairness, do you really expect Hattons to bag their own product.
No other company would, even if the world knew it was , so why should Hattons?
From all reports they haven't said no to anyone returning their loco.

I don't think people are being adverse. It's just horses for courses. Some find it easier using them and others find it easier not to.
Each to their own!
