RMweb Gold Market65 Posted October 20, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 20, 2021 Good evening, everyone. That sounds right, Railpassion, there’s a lot going on at Bridlington from Saturday, 23rd October. Here’s the notice about it on Beverley station. I wonder why rail replacement buses cannot serve Nafferton - are the roads unsuitable? Well, for this evening, I now have a photo’, courtesy of Syd Young on Flickr, of Melton Lane, on the 23rd November, 2018, the last day of the semaphores on the mainline from Hull. It shows a class 144 Pacer, in misty conditions. Clearing the Section by Syd Young, on Flickr Best regards, Rob.
Railpassion
The signals and track layout now in their last hours. Tomorrow is the final opportunity to travel over the existing layout. South Box used to control 30 points until the 70s then reduced to around 11 points in 1983 and now soon to be just 5. RMweb Gold Market65 Posted October 21, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 21, 2021 Good evening, everyone. Well today I went to Scarborough, and was able to take a selection of photo’s, from the train, of some of the things to be seen at Bridlington. So, for this evening three photo’s follow, and show a crossover assembled on top of the former carriage sidings, then some of the machines and equipment, and finally a view of another turnout before reaching the station itself. Please excuse the reflections from the carriage windows. So, the old era draws to a final close, with the new, slimmer era, about to start. RMweb Gold Market65 Posted October 22, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 22, 2021 Good evening, everyone. Well, this evening, there’s only a few hours left and then the work really gets underway at Bridlington bringing the era of the ‘traditional railway’ to a close at Bridlington. So, to move to something else, this evening I have a photo’, courtesy of Syd Young on Flickr. It shows Deltic, class 55, 55002, The King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry as it follows the coaching stock, out of Hull Paragon station, from train 1D02, the 12.05 London King’s Cross to Hull, on the 31st March, 1981. 55002 - Hull Paragon by Syd Young, on Flickr Best regards, Rob. 12

RMweb Gold Popular Post Market65 Posted October 23, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted October 23, 2021 Good afternoon, everyone. Well, I’m about to freeze you all to death with a photo’, by Syd Young on Flickr, of a scene from the 3rd December, 2010. It’s right in the middle of that freezing cold weather and snow over one foot deep. We are at Cottingham, and a class 158, 158793, is very cautiously making it’s way, through the deep snow, from Hull to Bridlington, near Thwaite Street crossing, Cottingham. 158793 - Cottingham by Syd Young, on Flickr Best regards, Rob.

RMweb Gold Market65 Posted October 24, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted October 24, 2021 Good evening, everyone. Thank you, Railpassion, for the latest update on Bridlington. It’s most interesting to see the relaying on the trackwork, and the signalling works. It will be so different upon completion. I hope you’ll be able to keep the updates coming. So, this evening, it’s another photo’ from Syd Young on Flickr, and this shows quite a sight at Hull Paragon station with 31115 attached to the front of train 1A18, the 12:45 Hull to London King's Cross on the 22nd August, 1979 before departing. The failed 47552, is coupled behind it and 37140, which was also under power. Paragon Threesome by Syd Young, on Flickr Best regards, Rob.

I made the mistake of not looking at Driffield on RTT, Bridlington doesn't show the trains (in hindsight I presume Driffield/Nafferton to Seamer is a possession) and as they haven't run by Seamer they don't show it either. Were the trains double ended or were they going up to Hunmanby/Filey to run the locos around (I am assuming one the tracks in Brid station isn't usable)? Railpassion
Hi, some single one or two double. I think they used the old layout with wrong direction movements. 7 trains were in on Saturday standing along the single line up to Sewerby. As they left 4 more came in today. The new Up Main is connected but the new crossover is still to be lifted into place. This may occur overnight. The down main may be removed tonight or tomorrow. The lever frame in the box is still in place. Edit. Trains lined up along the gradient buffering up until the last one, which was top and tailed, arrived. Leading locos were then coupled to preceding trains. Last one out is now top and tailed. Edited October 25, 2021 by Railpassion 4

Boris
There has been some route learning done via Seamer as well in case the trains have had to go out that way, some of the spent ballast has previously gone out that way and reversed at Seamer)
