Markus0188
I've also gotten a good few screencaps from today as well despite the rain, starting with the K1 at Grosmont with the freight, with the A4 rolling in moments later, while 6023 was hanging off the rear. Markus0188
Missed the freight departure and the King going for servicing, but did catch Eric arriving from Whitby (I'm going with multiple posts due to how many screencaps I took). Again I missed the freight arriving at Goathland, and the King leaving Grosmont, but did see the A4 go on shed, before catching the King arriving at Goathland despite the fuzzy picture (which was just the rain on the lense), followed by 6990 heading north, and arriving at Grosmont 12 minutes later while the A4 waited in Platform 4. Markus0188
Then we had 6990 heading on shed while the A4 prepped itself with the Teaks, before Sybilla removed the GW Saloon from the diner (Guess it wasn't needed tonight), and the K1 after it returned from Goathland, though I missed it leaving. Steamport Southport
It is funny that I took almost exactly the same screenshots as those myself. Evening departure. Markus0188
Missed the A4 leaving Grosmont and arriving at Goathland, but I did see Eric waiting at Grosmont with the Whitby set while 6990 was in Platform 4, plus the J27 and centurion heading north from Goathland, before arriving at Grosmont 14 minutes later, and 6990 moving round to take the train out again. Markus0188
Missed the Whitby set leave, the double header going on shed, and the Hall leaving Grosmont and arriving at Goathland, but I did see the Southern double header leave Goathland, with 6023 hanging off the end, and the whole caboodle arriving at Grosmont 12 minutes later. Markus0188
Final batch, starting with the double header going on shed for the night, with 80136 is just visible in front of the diner, and Eric is in the distance with the last train from Whitby, and once Platform 2 was clear, Eric pulled in. Missed the King going on shed for the night, but did see the B1 take its place, And then slogging into Goathland with the last service train of the day. This was the last picture I took for the day as the light was about to fade. So an excellent day of footage despite the weather. I'll be there in person with dad tomorrow, and from looking at the weather, it may just be alright. We'll have to wait and see.

birdseyecircus
Nice and sunny in Filey today. I managed a brief call in at Pickering station yesterday and was rewarded with union of South Africa. Paul

RMweb Gold papagolfjuliet Posted September 28, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 28, 2019 The last train off Pickering was hauled by the A4 with the King and the 9F bringing up the rear. An extraordinary and probably unprecedented combination. What a gala!

Here’s a shot of that train leaving Pickering: Loads of locos, busy trains and tons of photographers by the lineside all along the route today.

I have to say that the back of a 9F coming into Pickering is better than the front of a King. It would have been nice if they could of cleaned Union; was somebody making a point? jwealleans
Quote Were you at the gala yesterday evening? No, I'm afraid I shan't have time to go. I'd have liked to see No. 9 again but I can remember it belting up the ECML instead. 92134 last worked the year I was born. Well done to whomever put the money and effort into restoring that. JamieR4489
The 9F took its first service train by itself today instead of 29 and 65894. The loco roster seems to have gone to pot as someone on Facebook said that 2253 failed yesterday so I think 62005 has taken its place and 76079 has taken 62005's place.
RMweb Premium Richard E Posted September 30, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 30, 2019 The USA did fail. The 9F looked very nice when I saw it, a friend and his wife were on one of its runs.
