My replenishment for styrene strip finally turned up, so yesterday evening I made a concerted effort on the house, tackling windows, doors etc.

Here's a reminder of the prototype:

And here's the result so far:

The front door is a placeholder for now, as the prototype is quite an intricate design which I need to work on.

The roof is glued down now, so the next job is a spot of tileage, and then I can paint it and add the finishing touches: rain water goods etc.

Thanks for looking.

Looking great Al

Call me inattentive, but when did the applause icon turn up?

You're inattentive! :jester:

I got really upset the first time one of those applause icons appeared on one of my posts because I thought it was a sarcastic slow clap :scratchhead:

You’re right of course, very inattentive indeed.

I can see how it could be taken both ways! I’m still working out when it’s appropriate to use the t-square icon.

I've been using the forum's engineers square icon

Unfortunately I've only just noticed it's about 3° out of square, could explain why some of my builds are wonky

That looks very effective, Al. It looks as though it seen quite a few Derbyshire winters. Just one thing if I may? Any chance of a bit of filler in that bay window where two pieces join?

The other corners/joins look so good.

Are you using the excellent Modelu rainwater goods?

The building deserves it.

Mike.

I was going to use styrene rod, as I did with the Grindleford terrace:

not come across Modelu's stuff, but I'll take a look.

Cheers Mike,

Al.

Thanks very much Jay, I was just looking at their stuff, it really is impressive, so I've ordered a load.

2 week lead time, sadly, so the house may have to wait a while, but it should be worth it.

I foresee you will receive them in less than two weeks
