Popular Post mdvle
From the just released North American Newsletter 127 - also can be found, along with a form to use for applying, on the Rapido website at https://rapidotrains.com/content/rapido-careers Quote We're also hiring... A UK OPERATIONS MANAGER! We are in the process of opening up our UK limited company and we are looking for an operations manager. This is a manager, right? Who's in charge of operations, right? Hence the name... If you are the right person for this job, you have experience in the following areas: · Managing operations for a small- to medium-sized business · Bookkeeping or basic accounting · Hating people who use apostrophes incorrectly · Logistics, such as warehousing and packing/posting of parcels · Banking, as in using a bank and not "going up an incline" · Actually, being able to go up an incline is an asset. · Managing a small team · Being extremely organised and managing your time efficaciously · Knowing what efficaciously means · Customer service and putting out fires (not literal fires, but it is helpful if you could put those out too in case we ever make a Class 28) · Starring as Doctor Who on television, provided you also have experience managing operations for a small- to medium-sized business If you have experience in the following areas, you need not apply: · Always - or even occasionally - or even once - referring to yourself as "one" like some toffee-nosed twit · Volunteering to be a crash test dummy · Being the COO of a £100 million company (you are overqualified) · Routinely - and successfully - performing brain surgery (you are qualified, but in the wrong field) · "Role playing" as an arsonist but accidentally burning down buildings for real · Stealing stuff · Lying, cheating, murdering and pillaging We have to say that we are an "equal opportunity" employer. If you refer to yourself as "one" in the interview, we will absolutely consider you fairly and then absolutely not hire you. Please reply to this email to submit your CV and cover letter, and we will send you a real job description. If you wish to apply by fax, please remember that our pages are shorter and fatter than yours so we can't read the teensy-tiny writing at the bottom of your page. Incidentally, if your preferred method of communication is fax, please bear in mind that we are an "equal opportunity" employer. 6 1

truffy
I wonder what kind of individual would apply to a job ad worded so ‘playfully’. I realise that it’s meant to show them as phun guyzngalz, but it looks as professional as the man himself. 17 minutes ago, rab said: Someone should forward this to Dave Jones. I think it's a legal thing to do with imports - they have talked about it for a couple of years - not immediately the start of anything bigger. I agree with the sentiment to keep expectations low, but through both the podcast interview and the Facebook Live sessions done by Jason it is clear they have plans for the UK market beyond the Fleetline bus. And while it is guesswork by me, and the need for a legal UK company for their products like the bus is true, you don't need to hire a full time person to just import several thousand model buses and instead could either contract it or hire someone on a temp / part time basis. 1
34theletterbetweenB&D
One will undertake the task, but solely if one's penchant for GNR and LNER appropriate traction and coaching stock is the sole model railway product they intend. (Good start with the Stirling single and NER dynomonster car.) 1 2

Not to predict what (if anything) they produce, but I will point out that one of the senior employees at Rapido (Bill) is a GWR modeller/fan so a GNR/LNER focus would seem to be unlikely... 1
RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted July 17, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 17, 2020 Oddly this one hasn't been recommended to me (yet) by Linked In who usually seem to send me links to any jobs which mention operations management and logistics 3
Steamport Southport
Funny thing is I fit most of the criteria. But I have a feeling there will be a lot of video conferencing and other techy things. Not my bag I'm afraid. I've only just worked out how the fax machine works.... Jason (not that one) 3
