RMweb Gold Bucoops Posted December 24, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 24, 2021 (edited) This one has the Shell logo on (Does Anglo-Dutch count as a UK fuel brand?) - And a BP logo on an ex-BR Cl14 - http://www.scot-rail.co.uk/photo/scaled/23151/ Do they all have to be for liquid fuels? Coal is a fuel and there were an awful lot of NCB marked locos Edited December 24, 2021 by Bucoops

Steamport Southport
Many of the later steam survivors were locomotives at power stations. CEGB. https://preservedbritishsteamlocomotives.com/robert-stephenson-hawthorn-works-no-7817-no-1-0-4-0st/ There was also locomotives at nuclear power stations. RMweb Gold Joner Posted December 24, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 24, 2021 There is an argument for DRS. Set up in 1995 primarily to move spent fuel from nuclear power stations. Paul
Mol_PMB
Are you looking for prototypes (in which case there are many) or models (rather few)? Some main-line freight diesels allocated to the petroleum sector had nameplates incorporating a fuel company logo: Many oil refineries and larger terminals had their own industrial loco which would normally carry the livery, logo or name of the owning oil company. Generally they were diesels owing to the fire risk of steam or electric traction, here’s a veteran example: The Lobitos oil refinery had a fireless steam loco which was latterly painted with the Lobitos brand in large lowercase letters along its steam receiver. I can’t immediately find a photo of it in that condition but there is an earlier photo of it here: http://www.barrowmoremrg.co.uk/Journal/BMRJ_Issue_33_pub.pdf
RMweb Gold rodent279 Posted December 24, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 24, 2021 (edited) Not a BR loco, this rather attractive little Hunslet 0-6-0DH worked for BP at Coryton, Cardiff. Edited December 24, 2021 by rodent279
RMweb Gold Re6/6 Posted December 24, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 24, 2021 May be of interest.......0-6-0 taken at Cattewater, Plymouth in 2012 at the then bitumen terminal. Out of use for sometime. Minus 'ESSO' logo. 1

33C
Try the books by Gordon Edgar. Plenty of colour photo's and each album contains a section on that region's traffic by type, e.g. fuel, coal, etc.
adds-trains
Hello everyone. Thanks for all the posts, this has been very useful. I am looking for liquid fuel, any fuel you can fill your car with so Esso, BP and Shell primarily. They can be from and time period in the last 100 years. I'm after pictures of the real loco, dosent have to have a model form as i know not many have been produced. Using the pictures of the real locos I'm gona try to repaint or recreate/build models of them to pull fuel tanker wagons. I have a bit of an unorthodox model railway, no set time period, in were I have a branded loco pulling the same brand of wagon and not more than 1 of the same type. My layout is more of a demonstration of what type of rolling stock ran on uk rails. I'm really proud of the verity of my EWS loco rake and my GBRF train is taking shape nicely. (if only Accurascale could find a way to ship to the UK quicker). It doesn't have to be a uk company as DB Schenker and as you said, Shell, isn't UK based but they operate on UK rails so they make the cut on to my layout. What i don't want is a loco that only worked overseas like a Russian or French thing. They dont have to be UK built, as long as they worked on UK rails, even if built abroad and imported, they make the cut on my layout. The Railfreight Partoleum livery has branded wagons I can get for it so even though main line operators hauled the fuel wagons, I can't have them pulling wagons that aren't the same brand as them. Call it a OCD niggle haha. I have a DRS loco already and pre-ordered the Accurascale nuclear wagons. Can't wait for them, they look stunning. I am collecting Esso, BP and Shell tanker wagons and need some locos to pull them and I know theres very few models out there in branded fuel livery so with these pictures as proof of existence I will aim to repaint or 3d print some bodys. There's a few already out there that people have digitally created that fit on a Hornby 0-4-0 chassis. Also, I am looking for build rakes of considerable size, over 1 meter, so the small shunter will be double head so they don't burn out. That Hornby Sentinel isn't very powerful. Finding more than 1 of the same branded loco in these comments has been excellent so I can double head the rakes. Heljan has just announced a new run of class 14 and theres a BP livery. Esso and Shell are a little more tricky as there isn't another model out there so thats were 3d print and repaits will cone in to play. If anyone knows of any more locos out there please post away, thanks!!! Edited December 25, 2021 by adds-trains spelling corrections

Nearholmer
As is made clear above, there were oodles of industrial shunters, this pair at being my favourites. The GE 45 Tonner is/was available r-t-r, but in 0n30, which might not help! There we’re some 2ft gauge ones too at AGWI Petroleum, as the site originally was, so this hunt could go on a bit. Steamport Southport
Not real, but there was the Wrenn Shell and Esso R1 0-6-0Ts. https://www.hattons.co.uk/13000/wrenn_w2203_class_r1_0_6_0t_in_shell_silver/stockdetail https://www.hattons.co.uk/713632/wrenn_w2201_po_class_r1_0_6_0t_in_blue_esso_pre_owned_glue_marks_on_cab_roof_damaged_chimney/stockdetail Fun thing to have. Expect to pay about £20 to £40 each if you want one. They aren't quite the collectable some thought they would be as they weren't cheap when they were being made. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wrenn-034-ESSO-034-Blue-Class-R1-Tank-0-6-0T-Locomotive-model-W2201-/324939531527 Jason
