Just to be a bit pedantic :D - you have a separate heading for OO9 in which case should you have a separate heading for O scale Narrow Gauge as well?

Camp 93 Parsons Lumber Co is American O scale 1:48 running on 16.5mm track - usually known as On30

You're right Mike - my fault for not noticing - seen the layout too, and it's excellent!

There are engineering works between Peterborough & Newark on both days (Sat PM & Sun AM)so watch out if you're catching the train! Trains will be diverted via Lincoln so journey times may be extended by up to 90 mins! Now, do tell me if I'm wrong but does this not mean some dragging of '225' sets?

Yours frothing-at-the-mouth-ingly

-ECML ;)

Hi,

Just a bit of a bump! It's Happening next weekend!

I'll be there operating Hinton Parva on the Sunday, come and say hello (or throw insults :D )

Simon

Like Simon I will be there with fellow members of High Wycombe and District MRS operating Hinton Pava (see also this months issue of BRM). Yes please do come and say hello although I dont think any insults should be necessary.

We'll I'm frantically prepping stock for my 18' stand this weekend.

I'm anticipating another feeding frenzy around the N-gauge rummage boxes...

I hope to meet a few of you over the weekend, do make yourselves known to me if you are about!

A first class show I thought. Easy to get to, good parking, nice tea (a quid - Scaleforum take note ;) ) at reasonable prices from the mobile van just outside the door....

The layouts were good too, as was the spread of trade stands (pretty much something to suit most people I thought). Pleased with my Hornby L1 for £67 and the bundle of freebie goodies from the BRM people too :). Many thanks to all concerned.

Brian

ps Even found seats to sit on when required, even at lunchtime :clapping_mini:

First time I've been to this , but considered as a regional show - in a region where there are very few larger shows , it was very good. The venue is big , and as a result the show was not at all crowded. It's perhaps worth saying that specialist trade support was very good: I wouldn't expect to find the likes of 3SMR at a show of this kind and I eyed up his selection of Bull- Ant motorbogies (I thought about buying the one for an EM1 - but as I think the second hand kit I bought already has DC kits' mechanism in the box, and as I'm not likely to build the thing in the near future , I backed off) and I acquired three sets of DMU corridor connectors off A1 Models

I didn't take very much in the way of the photos but although the layouts seemed a little scattered , the standard was high. County Gate, Brockley Green and Rowlands Castle are well known; Rhyd-y-Clafdy is very finely executed, and I liked Oakwell Central and Sutton - the structure work on the latter was excellent. Cornwallis Yard looked excellent in the flesh (though rather a lot of the footprint is non-scenic). It's also nice to see 3mm and Flockburgh looked good, as usual.

Yes - enjoyed the show yesterday (Saturday). Did not spend as much this year since last year I got severely told off by Mrs. geoffers on return. Onve bitten - twice shy as they say!Nice trip over by train from Norwick. Met up with one of me mates from Bury St. Edmaunds at Peterboro Statopn where, joy unconfined, we witnessed Duchess of Hamilton steaming through - wow. So a good start to the day. Thanks to all the exhibitors, traders and organisers for a really good show. Nice to meet Eddie and Brian on the DOGA stall as well.

Nice show, lots of good layouts, good trade support.

But here is my gripe, I couldn't get there until 3pm Sunday (work) but it does bug me that some start taking stock off nearly 2 hours before the end of a show, entered through the doors and spotted county gate which is always worth a look, stood waiting for what seemed like an age as the team stood behind taking stock off and packing it away, with nothing running for in excess of 5 mins I gave up and moved on. it was not sadly an isolated case, I did mention to one operator that it's not really cricket to do this, the reply was "we've been here all weekend" my reply was "don't take 2 day bookings if you don't want to do them".

That said I was there right until 4.30pm and there were several operating as normal until the end, as it should be!

I like the show and will go again but it does annoy me when that happens.

Perhaps it was a bit dusty for them...

No change there then.

Just got back having packed the North of England Line away at the club. Everyone had a really good weekend with all the layouts and trade being a good bunch. The show was spacious and nicely planned. Well done to all concerned.:)

The layout performed well in parts but did have its sticky moments. The hall was very cold during set up and must have been even colder overnight. When coming into the hall on Saturday morning we did notice how much warmer the whole place was. (much better!) This seemed to have an adverse effect on the operation of our "delicate little creation". I wonder if anyone else experienced similar problems? (not just the usual Saturday morning stuff) Maybe it was just us! Many very favourable comments though, including one from a guy who got married in the real version of our model stately home.

We did operate right up to 4.30 on Sunday (and quite right too) but did remove some stock before closing that would have stayed offscene in the fiddle yard beyond lights out!
