34theletterbetweenB&D
"Dapol's new models use its excellent Class 22 tooling, as the Class 21/29 shared the same bodyshell as their diesel-hydraulic cousins." Model Rail, June 2018. I sincerely hope not... Indeed. The rather significant length difference makes this impossible. But if there has been some 'carry over' in aspects like the general body side profile, that would neatly explain the inadequately represented bevelled turnunder of the lower body side seen on the 21/29 EP. The 22 had a much less steeply angled turnunder, which by eye looks suspiciously akin to that of the 21/29 EP. Regarding the cab front ends, my recollection is that these were castings and common across 21/22/29, but with different fixtures and fittings hung on them. If that is correct, some of the CAD from the 22 might well have been reused as a basis. Hey ho. Let's wait and see what Dapol actually put in front of us. 34theletterbetweenB&D
Something of that order, the 21/29 must be about 15% longer than the 22. Not a small and easily overlooked difference...

34theletterbetweenB&D
Seems highly inadvisable to me, advertising on the basis of pictures revealing a woefully inaccurate body shape. The well known phrase including the word 'bargepole' is my reaction. Wait until fully finished production models are available for inspection before a purchase is considered.
RMweb Gold adb968008 Posted May 16, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 16, 2018 (edited) Wise to stay away from D6121/6122 they had a cab swap which changed their appearances. Note D6129 is the only one now being made without eyebrows above the cab windows (though the stock picture shows it with eyebrows). I just looked at Hattons website, there picture shows the with eyebrows.. so obviously both toolings exist. Edited May 16, 2018 by adb968008
Nimbus
I don't recall any particular rage occasioned by the original listings, so why have they done it? Why convert Pilot Scheme members from plain green to SYP, thereby excluding their initial GN and GE 'exploits'? Joins the GN/Thameslink timetable in my expanding list of undelivered promises! The Nim.
Max Legroom
The class 29 numbers are sensible as they all carried the listed liveries to the end in late 71 (I think).
'CHARD
Class 29 #D6129 BR Blue Full Yellow Warning Panel - Sound Fitted 4D-014-002D - surely a misprint or an absolute bargain - at £148.50.

'CHARD
It’s DCC fitted only. Roy The description needs tweaking; I had assumed that was the case as each loco is available in the three different configurations, and this is the only one that doesn't follow the pattern. PaulG
........................................................ excluding their initial GN and GE 'exploits'? Does this mean Dapol are not going to produce a version as first allocated to the GE Section - D6110-9 (30A Stratford) and/or D6120-37 (32B Ipswich) .? Nimbus
Well, a couple of candidates do fall into your number range. I don't know offhand when the GE got rid of theirs, but the GN ones moved north prior to any yellow warning panels being applied. The Nim.

Paul They are doing D6118 and D6120 in plain green. The version they are not doing is D6100-09 with the two part radiator grille as fitted when new to the Great Northern.
