Get off the phone and get some layout work done he he

once back to work stick with the 56 you don't want a 70 lol

looking forward to getting on the 70s to be honest, with any luck by the time 70802 arrives and is prepped for service then i should be able to drive it off the docks!

going to be intestesting to compare them to a 66 on the various trains

They came out of Seaforth compound onto the run round loop at about 1400. As far as I'm aware they haven't moved since then, certainly they hadn't moved any further by 1615

Can you compare the two though Jim?

They should blow them clean out the water according to the specs.

From my lineside view, the 70 is noticeably quicker than a 66 passing me on a 1 in 120 with 2000Te on the hook - and it sounds better!

Mick

i recon i should be able to compare them quite easily, after driving 66s for so long i have a good idea of what sorts of speeds i pass certain places with certain trains, similarly with throttle positions, getting one on the logs will be interesting to see how it goes up gresford bank with a loaded train, similarly shap with an empty one

its not just performance that i will be comparing but driver comfort, sound, vibration etc

i'm training on them the week after next so hopefully i can get on one pretty soon with a train

Just enough yellow to keep me interested. :senile:

Now they're finally out and about, I'll have my model 70801 in action at Ally Pally.

Cheers,

Mick
