RMweb Premium nightstar.train Posted June 19, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted June 19, 2016 Blimey That looks like someone gave my three year old a colouring in picture of a Class 08. Dare someone to paint a model one and run it at a show!

Nearholmer
"Much thinner stripes than normal for 08s, and rectangular buffers" And, you can see nothing else remarkable about this locomotive?! :-) Was it painted like that so that every customer could see their livery in it, or was it just a case of using all the three-quarters finished tins of paint? LongRail
The 08 colour scheme reminds me of when you used to see cars where replacement panels had been obtained with different colour vehicles from scrapyards prior to repainting

Jamesb
I think I have even fewer pics of 08s than I do first gen DMUs? 08 721 at Piccadilly, 1988 ish So, since posting the above shot, it turns out I've doubled my collection of 08 pics..... Three unidentified 08s at a Crewe works open day. Edited August 26, 2016 by Jamesb

flyingsignalman
In early 1982 (2/2/1982-I think), having learnt that the line from Widnes No7 to Farnworth and Bold was to shut I went with a friend to take some photos. We first called in at Widnes No7, took some photos and then headed to Widnes No1. The Signalman at No7 told that there had been a trip to Tanhouse Lane and that we might see the loco on its way back to West Deviation Yard.We did! 08885 was the loco.We carried on up to Widnes No1 box to take our photos there. Surprisingly another trip was made to Tanhouse Lane while we were there.Arriving at Widnes No1Ready to start propelling the wagons up to Tanhouse Lane, the Shunter stands in the doorway (who needs to go behind the signals for the move?!?!)The traincrew learning that we were heading up to Tanhouse Lane (and Carterhouse Jcn SB) offered us a lift which we gladly accepted!Waiting for the gates to be opened at Tanhouse.Shunting into the sidings. KevinWalsh
Apologies in advance for taking the thread slightly off topic, but I was wondering if anyone had any pics of Class 12's in action. As you can see from my avatar I have a 7&1/4" Class 12 and I'm looking for pics to enhance my detailing of it as well as the possibility of making some prototype stock behind it that it did haul around.
