A little searching later... http://www.bbc.co.uk/devon/content/articles/2008/10/09/trains_peter_gray_feature.shtml and https://www.transporttreasury.com/f449715166 I wonder if the Transport Treasury is still work in progress? As they only seem to be showing Peter Gray's black and white photos, with no captions. So another set of mystery photos ideal for RMWeb members to identify the locations. e.g. https://www.transporttreasury.com/p1039757392 Pic 598 and 619 - a Great Northern railbus? https://www.transporttreasury.com/p1039757392/ha954f804#ha954f804 https://www.transporttreasury.com/p1039757392/ha9550241#ha9550241 Pic 775 - one loco, one coach, and one wagon - mixed traffic? https://www.transporttreasury.com/p1039757392/ha9555b06#ha9555b06 Pic 811 A classic GWR BLT - Kingsbridge perhaps? https://www.transporttreasury.com/p1039757392/ha9558e93#ha9558e93 The last time I checked the Transport Treasury did not have access to Peter Gray's colour photographs and were not expecting that situation to change. I didn't get anywhere with my efforts to get find a contact for whoever has them, which might well be his family.

RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted November 9, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 9, 2020 This particular design of pannier is, dare I say it, on the lower end of the cuteness spectrum, but is nevertheless accorded full honours in terms of access to the Kernow Towers First Class Pannier Lounge. 7 1 1

Talking of 9440 and here she is in a familiar location sometime in the 50s judging by the fashions and vehicle shewn. The level crossing is of course still there although the signal box has long gone from Torbay Road, Paignton.

RMweb Gold john dew Posted November 9, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 9, 2020 Are you getting one Robin? They do look rather nice. Anyway my mind is made up.....at last. Having just told Tinker that I was rather ambivalent, I did a bit more digging and 9408 the Oxley loco was built in May 1947......and google says Wolverhampton is only 60 miles fron Wrexham Granby. brianusa
I vote for 9400! Also, while in Paignton, looking back still, how could anybody have designed the A30. I asked myself that question as I sat in the back seat ages ago! Brian 1 2

That's excellent news and persuades me to buy a copy particularly as they must have had a challenging year financially. I do wonder if there's more that they could do to get what must be a vast photo archive accessible to a wider public. I for, one, would be happy to pay a subscription fee to access it particularly for those images that may be to my niche interests but not of others! 2 2

The Trust are working to make their collection more accessible to the public but, of course, it is a big collection - not just photos. They are all, mostly senior, volunteers and this year has rather disrupted things.
