As to the future of the layout I've narrowed it down now to two options, sell or convert 2 boards to British diesel outline!! It will be a real shame to see "EOTS" vanishing after just one more show, Ray. However, to retain some of it's features, it would be interesting to see it adapted to GB. Thank you for your kind words.
long island jack 5,856
I've been looking into the cost of a change over to BR, I've no modern stock etc, VDA's, VGA's Cargo wagons, tanks and loco's and the cost will be eyewatering, so I think it could be a change to sell or scrap!
long island jack 5,856
Well, in these interesting times i've had time to think what's going to happen to the layout, had a couple of offer's to buy, one from the states!, but have finally decided to keep it. The plan is, it will move up into my loft and stand on 30" legs (though still be available for exhibitions, if we get back to the norm) then i'm going to build a small holding yard, and a offstage fiddle yard(interchange), plans are at an advanced stage, timber bought, going to use what's left of my code 75 points and track, so on with my winter project. Will update when there's something done. Edited November 19, 2020 by long island jack

Yep, i've retire the layout, now permanent in the loft, to be honest haven't missed the exhibitions, was losing a bit of interest before covid set in, think i'm going to be more selective with new exhibition layout, to stick to my favourite exhibition, that's if i get invited!! Moving to a 26' x 12' garage with an attached house in the New Year, part of my lump sum going towards having the garage insulated etc ready for my first layout in over 15 years, modern era CSX HO. enginelane 3,001
No but committee have pulled the 2021 show as the venue are not accepting any external bookings in 2021. However no one in the club is currently keen to take over the organising of a show so it’s Malcolm and me looking at alternatives etc.
