luckymucklebackit
#1 and #2 are St Margaret's I think. Jim
pH
#2 definitely St. Margarets. #1 probably St. Margarets, though with 78016's allocation history, I'm rather surprised to see it there. Photos of that corner of the main shed from that angle (with the photographer possibly standing on the main line) don't seem to be common. #3 is probably Polmadie shed yard. Rail-Online
1 is definately St Margarets, see this slightly more distant view: http://www.rail-online.co.uk/p173919312/h4dbcf5bc#h4dbcf5bc Tony

pH
#4 is definitely Parkhead shed - https://www.flickr.com/photos/gricerman/23282347575 #3 is probably Parkhead shed, too - https://www.railscot.co.uk/imageenlarge/imagecomplete.php?id=30181 . Compare the roofline of the shed building, and Parkhead Forge to the left. Polmadie's 8Fs (48773/4/5) were stored at Parkhead after their second withdrawal (!) and before they were transferred to the LMR. I would suggest #1 is also Parkhead shed. Polmadie's 5 Clans (72000-4) were moved to Parkhead between being withdrawn and being scrapped. There's not a lot to go on in the picture, but that looks like an 8F in front of 72002. If it's not Parkhead, it's possibly Polmadie before the Clans and 8Fs were moved to Parkhead.
vitalspark
Nice rear 3/4 shot of the Clan..currently detailing one and it shows the draught screens to effect…also its Polmadie.

Not doubting you, but what in the picture makes you sure? I tried to see anything that definitely put it at Polmadie or at Parkhead, but couldn't. pH
I think #4 is at Bathgate shed. Here's a thumbnail of the engine in the same position - unfortunately the fullsize picture is not available - https://www.google.ca/search?q=68095+bathgate&client=tablet-android-samsung&hl=en-CA&prmd=minv&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi7z7aDyrbLAhVJ-2MKHdQNB-EQ_AUICCgC&biw=1024&bih=600#hl=en-CA&tbm=isch&q=68095+bathgate&imgrc=Z6LPe0CJDdrkiM%3A There's also this picture, which looks to have been taken from the other side - https://www.google.ca/search?q=68095+bathgate&client=tablet-android-samsung&hl=en-CA&prmd=minv&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwi7z7aDyrbLAhVJ-2MKHdQNB-EQ_AUICCgC&biw=1024&bih=600#hl=en-CA&tbm=isch&q=68095+bathgate&imgrc=8U2L7Mefon8eQM%3A

luckymucklebackit
Think we are back at Dalry Road for #1 and #2. 62712 is Morayshire, now preserved at the SRPS, last duty was stationary boiler at Slateford Laundry which was not far from Dalry Road. RMweb Premium 31A Posted March 11, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 11, 2016 The N7 was stored at Neville Hill for a while after being purchased for preservation - it could be there. Looks like a snow plough converted from an LNER tender standing behind it.
stewartingram
Neville Hill was a roundhouse, there are a number of photos of it there? Stewart
Bomag
The N7 was stored at Neville Hill for a while after being purchased for preservation - it could be there. Looks like a snow plough converted from an LNER tender standing behind it. The N7, K4 and K1 were at NL - there are some colour photos of them in the roundhouse in May 69 on a thread about a wooden cross section mock up of APT-E . It did spend some time at Holbeck; given that we had photos of the K4 at Holbeck earlier in this tread and some late 60's shots of the Middleton it is likely to be Holbeck. Also the N7 had its connecting rods still attached so it an 'earlier' rather than 'later' photo.
RMweb Gold Phil Bullock Posted March 11, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 11, 2016 Going back to the Clan and 8F in #929...the 8F in the Clan picture looks like it has a WD pattern clack valve cover as fitted to 48773/4/5 - perhaps supports the view that the Clan in #1 is in the same place as the 8F in #3? - and taken at the tame time? pH
Going back to the Clan and 8F in #929...the 8F in the Clan picture looks like it has a WD pattern clack valve cover as fitted to 48773/4/5 - perhaps supports the view that the Clan in #1 is in the same place as the 8F in #3? - and taken at the tame time?PhilPhil, it's almost certain that 8F is one of 48773/4/5. I'm sure the picture of 48774 in post #929 is at Parkhead shed, as I said. The problem I have is that I can't see enough in that picture of the Clan to say it's definitely at Parkhead. Clans 72000-4 and 48773-5 were Polmadie engines, and were all withdrawn on December 29 1962. The Clayton Type 1s were supposed to take over, amongst other work, the work the 8Fs had been doing. However they did not, shall we say, quite live up to expectations, and the 8Fs were reinstated. So the Clans and the 8Fs would have been stored together at Polmadie for a short time. The Clans were moved to Parkhead shed. Once the Claytons started to re-enter service, the 8Fs were again withdrawn and also moved to Parkhead. All 8 engines were therefore at Parkhead together as well. Eventually, 48773/4/5 were reinstated again and transferred to the LMR, while the Clans were scrapped. So, unless there's something in that picture of the Clan that I have missed, I can't be sure where it was taken. Peter has posted photos taken in both places. (For what it's worth, I think it's at Parkhead. If I half-close my eyes and squint, I can imagine I see electrification masts beyond the 8F.)
RMweb Gold Phil Bullock Posted March 12, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 12, 2016 Yes 48773 in particular had a charmed life! And when I squint I can see what you mean about those ethereal masts.... Phil

Marshall5
One of the London sheds? There's a rebuilt Bulleid pacific in the background of pic 3. More than likely when the pair of Beatties did a railtour around the London area in the early 60's. Sorry can't be more exact without doing some digging. Ray. RMweb Gold TheSignalEngineer Posted March 14, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 14, 2016 30585 and 30587 worked two railtours around south London on 2nd and 16th December 1962.
jonny777
I think it is Nine Elms which had rather large girders running the length of the shed, as can be seen here - https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/f3/7a/08/f37a0811bf73d8ed8c3d2596762680b7.jpg
