Folkestone-Dover sea wall wash-out

Recommended Posts

S0 the water feature might actually be a suspended water feature, tied into the bottom of raft #2, and theoretically "hanging" from underneath it, were the old trackbed ever to get washed away because of global warming..

Ah, Sandbagged, so was the England team.

Tuesday,is early morning shopping at a local supermarket.

On my way there, I noticed a large queue of people

forming, to shop at Iceland.

Actually,on Sunday,there was a pile of sand,in the middle of the site,with a hopper.

Now know they were filling sandbags, for the culvert sidewalls.

A good evaluation J/B.

Looking at a diagram of what is going to be constructed for the rail line sea defence,

I doubt,we will see a washout for a very long time.

Here are some iPad photos of today 1000-1030 hours.

More from camera later.

Culvert, 2parts of the new pipework are now being fitted inplace.

Rigs are drilling.

Spoil train on site.

Levelling surface for a pour on the West side of the culvert.

East side of the culvert removal of a lot more material around the pile heads, to start Chandilier work.

Think I know what the blue pallets are for on Raft 1. They are to form the high Seawall .

Is there ant cement with the sand, in those bags.  It used to be a traditional way to build walls / reinforcement where water was a problem.

Sorry J, could not tell you, I was not filling them, nor about when they were done.

I am good thanks, your probably recovering from "some" of my bias photos.

I am about to upload some unbiased photos from the failed camera.

You will recover quite quickly.

Phew!

Raft 1,

Lots of shuttering on display, the large grey/blue preformed items look as though they are former's for the walls.
