David Todd
Could be both from the look of the rain run-off in this image I thought, with the overnight rain and most of today, that the water was running to the far right corner. will looksee tomorrow morning, around 0830 -0930.
David Todd
Might there be some top dressing to fall and/or waterproof membrane over the slab to protect the reinforcement from saline corrosion? 2 From the artists impression it looks like a simple grill over the culvert opening in the new sea wall, yet some more complex sump and flap arrangement in the first image of the piled viaduct slabs. We must wait and see. dh They will certainly have to provide something otherwise the ballast will simply work its way through the concrete as it gets crushed by passing trains. But however they do it some sort of drainage to clear water off the viaduct will surely be essential? How, do they do rails, on concrete in main Termini ?

helcion
Fat Controller - Thanks - I was just going to post a similar link. http://www.networkrailmediacentre.co.uk/news/major-weekend-of-progress-at-dover-sea-wall-marred-by-rock-throwing-youths If this goes on any more I can see the cliff path bring closed & that will be the end for this thread. Understandably. Mind you the rock shown looks like a large piece of shingle & not really one that you'd find high up on Shakespeare Cliff, but anything thrown from the height of the cliff path could be a killer.
