David Todd
Thanks for that David. From memory it was some sort of experimental vehicle that became the basis for the APT ooaches. I think it was of skeleton construction with weights to get the centre of gravity on the right place.Jamie Will try to find the account later,if time allows, now out into the heavy rain of this morning. Grovenor
He has been switched,to the up line, from the down line, by the second set of trailing points, further north, of the set of trailers I mentioned earlier. So,his last part of his approach to DP,is done on the Up line, That second set of "trailing points" would, of course, be "facing points", otherwise the train would not be able to run in like that. Jamie The skeletal frame units were known as the POP train, and served as the test bed for the tilt elements for the APT.

David Todd
Sorry, but I did not take individual site jobs today, but, to me, this is getting rather same, same, game. My next visit, will not be until Thursday, when, another train is due to arrive. After Thursday, my visits will be sporadic, not definite, as my grandchildren arrive for half term holiday's. I have also have to undertake,a variety of one day, Work Experience Course's.
David Todd
Dover Priory Goods Shed, Demolition. In the final stages, after a few months work. David Todd
Information to the travelling public, also to locals, of the progress to repair the line, has been quite abysmal. The last update from the local newspaper was Janaury 30 th http://www.dover-express.co.uk/Repairing-train-line-Dover-Folkestone-cost/story-28442095-detail/story.html From Network Rail, even worse. http://www.networkrail.co.uk/news/2016/jan/task-force-to-speed-up-Dover-repairs/ Maybe a monitor at stations, with updated photos, of the on going site repair work, will appease the public.
