What I would dearly love to see,(have).

Is a very recent photograph's, of the signal in Dover Harbour Tunnel, that indicate's the path to be taken by a train,as it approach's,

Dover Priory Station, also a facing photo, of the limit of shunt signal at the Harbour Tunnel, north portal.

I have the technical drawing symbols, but no photo's.

The actual photo would compliment the model signal, made for me, by, Absolute Aspects.

Presumably it was a 375 that was stopped, rather than a 395? The former seem to have issues with current collection if there's even just a thin bit of ice on the rail-head, whereas the 'Javelins' don't seem to be affected. Before now, we've had the Up Folkestone blocked at Folkestone Central due to a failed 375, and a Javelin sat near Folkestone East waiting for it to move; I ended up driving Lynne, and three others, to Ashford that day.

there was talk about putting a connection back in for a siding there IIRC, i wonder if they'll put one in whilst its all ripped out. they could unload pebbles from Cliffe and fill the beach back up

There was talk about re-installing the link to Dover Western Docks, so that Orient Express could run to the Cruise Terminal. Lynne actually heard it from the then MD of Orient Express, who used to be a regular in the same compartment as her from Sandling. I don't think it got any further than talk , though. The Westernmost platform at Western docks still has track, albeit covered with plastic sheet, aggregate and tarmac; I watched them back-fill it.

Not just talk, a couple of year's back, some people in Dover, were shewn, a track plan on paper.  For whisking cruise passenger's to London via HS1.

Better still, we could demand the return of our sand,to Shakespeare Beach, that appeared at Calais, overnight,

from the French Government.

The main concentration of work this morning, appear's on the West End Stage.

Trenching, for cable laying, or someone else, has lost their "King's Shilling".

Dover Press gangs had the power to compel British seamen into the Royal Navy. A man forced unwillingly into the Navy in this way was given the King's shilling, but was often offered a chance to volunteer: a volunteer would be eligible for an advance of two months' wages and would be treated more favourably than their pressed counterparts.[4][11] Clothes and equipment, such as a hammock, had to be bought from the ship's purser out of the advance. Volunteers were also protected from debtors, up to the value of £20.[12]

There are recurring tales of sailors being pressed after a shilling was slipped into their drink,[5] leading to glass-bottomed tankards. However, this is likely to be a myth, for the Navy could press by force, rendering deception unnecessary.[4]

The last set of photos' for today.

It does look more and more like a single track solution being prepared. That cable run looks to be a permanent one out of the way of the works and the embankment appears to be graded at the east end.

However without anything from NR it's all idle speculation.
