I'd avoid the Hornby chassis like the plague. The one I've got doesn't run very well at all (and i know of others who have similar issues). I'd get the Branchlines chassis kit, or just put a decent motor and gearbox in the K's one, and then add brake gear etc. The other thing that will be required is lead, as much of it as you can fit in it, between the frames, in the tanks, in the boiler, the bunker etc...

It is not anything I have seen on your twitter, or in fact anything which has been on mine. Even though I thought it had been!!!

My 2 new kits are quite good though. I think one may be out of production, but I may be corrected on that later.

Thanks for those plates. I think they should last most people for as many SECR grey locos they could ever make. They certainly will for me!! and with today's announcement from Oxford Rail I think I will get a few WW1 era locos!!

Bachmann 2018 Catalogue ROD update:

(Great Central Type) ROD 2-8-0 in ROD condition. Running Number 1918.... ;)

And one in L&NWR Black livery as well!

So, there is currntly a spate of Pre-Grouping locos....

This includes another one from Hornby (NBR but really in Preserved condition)....

but nothing save SECR Birdcage coaches in the BM Catalogue to run behind them!

Looks like Pre-group RTR wagons are out there....and the old Hornby LBSCR Goods Brake Van....

I guess it is time for my update then!!

So without further ado. I present to you, for all to see. A pile of Whitemetal!!!!

I got this from the Uckfield show last year, and I did post it on the thread!!

This pile of whitemetal has turned into a D1, but you already knew that, I kind of gave it away!!

It also has a rather nicely detailed Cab:

Since then it has received some filler, I am hoping to make a good loco of this one!!

Which moves us swiftly on to last nights purchases. First we have a Woodham Wagon Works 1859 LBSCR brake van, which is either out of production or part of the 5 & 9 models brand now. This will go towards my early stock that seems to be building up.

and my other purchase was a Branchlines SE&CR Invalid Saloon,  which will be handy as I think I will need one if I keep coming home from club with kits!!!!

It is an etched brass kit and I think will make a rather nice model!!

So that make up the eagerly awaited update to Oak Hill, I really need to get soldering the chassis for the D1 now, but we will see how I feel!!!

Thanks for looking, hope you enjoyed,
