Edwardian
Credit goes to Ruston for lighting upon this Wizard Wheeze. It is possible to find similarly old and worn photographs of other subjects! 9

I think the selection above underscores the point; the pictures of models tend to suffer from the relatively elevated viewpoint. 10 7
RedGemAlchemist
I love the 0-6-2 tender loco. What is it?
sem34090
If you're referring to this one, Red, then it's an 0-6-0!
sem34090
Meanwhile, on my own travels... This is somewhat addictive, isn't it... Shame I haven't got any decent pictures of model railways.

It's a Bouch 1001 Class, a NER catch-all designation that encompassed a number of long-boiler types. The S&D built these from, IIRC, 1852-1875. From amalgamation with the NER (IIRC 1863), this was in the form of the Darlington Committee, but they did their own thing, producing essentially S&D equipment until 1875. This exquisite model is on Worsdell Forever's Rosedale and is unusual in featuring a tender cab, which was an adaption made for running on the Rosedale branch. 20 minutes ago, sem34090 said: This is somewhat addictive, isn't it... Looks like an 0-6-2 because if the way the shadows line up with the frames. That would have been most unusual. 52 minutes ago, Edwardian said: Good old Stockton & Darlington! Popular Post Edwardian
Well, I aen't dead, though I have been in hiding. It is not like me to fail to post here for a week. I have been snowed under at work, and am in the throes of annual accounts, which latter trial generally makes for a grim-faced homicidal Edwardian at the best of times. These are not, as it turns out, the best of times as things on the personal front have taken a rather upsetting turn. I won't dwell. Suffice it to say that I've been rushed off my feet, stressed and prey to an explosive temper. I even had a go at a forum member (have apologised) who unwittingly strayed in front of my cross-hairs whilst I was in a particularly murderous frame of mind. Thus, it's probably been for the best that I haven't had time to do any modelling or to post here. Things look set to ease off by mid-week next, so, hopefully, it'll be more ....
Buhar
Although not in classic Edwardian style (and my commiserations on your travails) you wrote Post number 19000, James, Keep an eye on your own writings too as you're nudging towards 10,000 personal posts. Hroth
Sorry to hear that life is being a female dog (of whatever colour), I hope things improve for the better some time soon. Likewise, I've not been popping in to post my dazzingly banal non-sequiteurs for tha past couple of weeks as I'm going through a family sadness. I suspect I'll not be in the mood to join in with whatever the Parish Council moot for the next month or so, but I'll certainly be keeping a weather eye open if only to raise my spirits and ensure that I'm not left mystified if the horde sprint off at a galloping tangent after a new will-o-the-wisp! Best wishes to all, and especially to Mr Ed!
Edwardian
Sorry to hear that, Hroth. Whatever it is, my best wishes. RMweb Premium Northroader Posted July 13, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 13, 2019 What about a nice pre raffialite painting, where everyone can identify with somebody on the picture, and say “it ain’t just me”? 8
Schooner
That's been my song of 2019, by a margin. Also a decent melody to whistle, particularly if a couple of people about the place recognise it Best wishes to all in the community facing tough times Schooner
