Hi Andy

Sorry to hear about the 68. There's been a few QC problems by the looks of things. I bought Anthony a DRS one yesterday and thoroughly checked it before purchasing. Apart from a slightly crooked name plate on one side all appeared well. When you do get yours back you won't be disappointed. Superb running qualities and superb detail.

Like the new 37 body. Can't beat the Original Railfreight livery.

Hope the respray turns out ok and you get that nose back on 417.

Cheers

Marcus

The 68 looks smart. I do like the Chiltern livery but opted for DRS.

i do like the very complex DRS livery and love the names they have applied to them but wanted the chiltern one as i new Hornby had done the dvt for Wrexham and Shropshire railways and mk3 so thought they'd look smart as a set . now Keep lookin on ebay  for the DVT and stock .

Ive got a 37/4 body shell mate if you get stuck.

(Its EWS tho)

Youve made some good progress recently, don't let the 37 issues get you down. I like the Bachmann product, but lately the quality is utter ****.

Ive had a continuing argument on FB about the quality of Bachmann products deteriorating whilst prices continue to rise! What the hell is that about? (I understand that post brexit jitters and the pound etc) but, why should we pay for shoddy wokmanship?

I saw a "limited edition" model for £150.00 and it was just DCC ready. Seriously? Cast your mind back a year or two - 37's were going for £60..... Theyre not worth much more than that now! (even less with the poor levels of QC!)

Anyway rant over lol good work mate keep it up!

Trev :)

again Trev thanks for lookin in and very kind to offer to help out with the 37/4 body hope i can sort the body work around the nose out and learn enough to sort paint work out but its good to know you guys have spares if needed. As for major model makers QC issues i cant believe the price they now want us to pay for workmanship that would not be allowed if it was made here in the uk and i understand the models are produced by a 3rd party in china that makes everything from rubber ducks to high tech toys but what we now pay i'm sure they could be made here for a good profit and we would then get a better quality model that the big companies could keep a better eye on and be on time Talkin of limited edition have you looked at rails of sheffield 3 new ones big money for standard tooled models with different liveries on i know people say dont buy them if you dont agree with price on this occasion i wont . and i know its not just rails of sheffield but thats the one ive just seen . I think we all feel the same at the moment . ive enjoyed the little job so much at the moment as a distraction from kids and work  :onthequiet:

Have to say I'm with you and Trev on the price and QC front. Unfortunately one of the Rails offerings is a must have for PDW so I shall be stumping up the cash for that one. First ever Construction liveried tractor from Bachmann believe it or not.

Got to say the cows do look good. Think the PDW herd may get replaced sometime soon. Nice find with the 60. Maybe worth trying Peters spares for the missing bits. Must admit the horns are very fragile. I've managed to knock one off on my 60026.

ta Marcus all of Bachmann new range of animals look very good so will be replacing the old ones on the farm and cheers for the heads up with peters spares. Hornby have some cab units for £8 but only rear cabs with red lights on there website spares section   and the horns are a nightmare so will ring horny about them see if they have them in stock.

Hi there had a hour today so tried to fit the coach lighting

post-28330-0-32637000-1489930049_thumb.jpg

Started by pulling the wheel from the axl and sliding the spring on and soldering to a wire.

post-28330-0-64948800-1489930057_thumb.jpg

Then on the other bogie attached wire to the top of the brass strip above the bogie and attached the spring to the bottom of the pre glued brass strip

post-28330-0-09229400-1489930065_thumb.jpg

Then attached the wires onto the light strip.

post-28330-0-07925800-1489930076_thumb.jpg

We have light

post-28330-0-50926200-1489930096_thumb.jpg

Thats as far as ive got today hope you think it looks ok ?

Now need to work out how to make the axl live and test run .
