RMweb Premium Barry O Posted February 15, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 15, 2016 Is the Marine still open near Waterloo Station? Used to be a good pub if you visited the erstwhile Crosby Show at merchant Taylors'. baz
Michael Delamar
Yes and there are plenty of good ones in Waterloo and Crosby, Waterloo station is not a far walk from the venue. The venue is brand new with better facilities than our last which was the church. So heating, toilets, parking, lighting. Although being a school we are no longer able to have our real ale bar. Jim Martin
I have to admit that when I saw "new venue" I was a little disappointed (although I know that the Old Christ Church is having some problems) but if it's at Merchants', that suits me down to the ground. Not only is it a return to a much-missed venue of yesteryear (albeit no longer in the Williams Hall, of course) but it's also only 10 minutes' walk from my house. RMweb Gold Phatbob Posted February 16, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted February 16, 2016 Although being a school we are no longer able to have our real ale bar. Well, that's it then, better move back to the old church.

Stanley Melrose
But with Everton at Wembley on the Saturday and travel back to Liverpool by train that evening virtually impossible, the attendance will be reduced, won't it? Well I won't be there . . . . Stan
Michael Delamar
We could never have predicted Everton getting to Wembley, we're open the Sunday too.

ardbealach
Enjoyed Liverpool Show and the new venue much improved on the previous church premises. Tight aisles and viewers so close to layouts may have been a problem. But an excellent selection of layouts. Well done Liverpool MRS!

RANGERS
First visit to the Liverpool show and some impressive stuff on show, I'm a failrly infrequent visitor to shows in the NW and it was good to see so many exhibits and traders I'd not seen before. Well done to all those who's efforts made it such a worthwhile visit.

RMweb Premium southern42 Posted April 25, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted April 25, 2016 Great friendly exhibition. Superb exhibits. Really helpful society and trade stands. Great food. A real delight to exhibit at. While Ray played trains...er...entertained the perceptive public, I went off with candid camera. The New Venue - in the Sports Centre at Merchant Taylors Schools. View from the cricket pavilion View looking back from the school building So. To the T R A I N S Camel Quay (00 gauge) marking the special visitor's birthday and anniversary of her visit to Cornwall in 1956 60 years on. Marking the exhibition with a courtesy wagon stabled next to our signature wagon. Thence I discovered elements on CQ used on other layouts such as: BR vehicles, black car, goods, allotment, greenhouse, one man went to mow, coal wagons, seated passengers, working signal, policeman, coal workers, gardener, buses, cattle pens, and luggage, etc (although CQ's luggage has disappeared so was not on the platform this weekend. I suspect station cat has walked off with it as she has disappeared with it). 29th Street Wharf Bonnington Goods 00 gauge Ashdan Junction 00 gauge NCB Kirkmellington Colliery Ayrshire Area EM gauge Clun 00 gauge Midhurst Road Junction 00 gauge St Mary Meade N Gauge Eaton Gomery 00 gauge Rowntree Sidings EM gauge And things I just delighted in: The loco on Megantic ON2 An incident on A.J. Michael Delamar
Thank you for the photos. I havent been to the club since the show but it seems like it was a success. We were let down by a major trader at the last minute. But overall it was an enjoyable and hopefully be even better in the coming years.
Steamport Southport
A thoroughly enjoyable exhibition. I was particularly glad of the extremely high standard of layouts present without a single one that wasn't watchable. I was also happy to finally be proved wrong about digital sound being a bit of a gimmick. A few of the layouts had it and in each case it added something to the overall experience. At a sensible sound level too. The same goes for the layout with the Land Rover going around the airfield. It worked. No unbearable rucksack wearers or children running wild during my visit. In fact it was the opposite, with young children being encouraged to have a go with the controller on at least three layouts. Now I've got a seven and five year old niece and nephew wanting a layout. Thanks to everyone involved and we'll almost certainly return next year. Jason
