As no one took more Pics. as I had hoped, Here are two I took last week. These are three of the signals mentioned after my last couple of visits . The area over the tunnel top has grown over the last few weeks together with the sloping field on the right.  Brian.

They're so much better than the pictures by the other bloke. Apparently he would like to be able to get out to take pictures but his hectic family life and shift work seem to be preventing him...he hasn't evwn had time for his own layout.

Did the professional photographer do his thing?

The start of the new gantry signals. The main frame work is based on Southampton, all scratch built from plastic strip etc. The rest will be a mixture of ratio bits and anything else off the workbench. I'm not able to visit Coleborne for a couple of weeks, so will look forward to seeing the complete and painted model when I next visit. If the other bloke has not taken Pics. by then, I'll attempt another one myself. Brian.

A couple of photos of complete signal gantry, not good photography again but still no visit by the other bloke who is very good at it. Nick has purchased the additional track detection modules, so 5 more to wire in to the storage sidings, will keep me busy for a couple of weekly visits. ZTC has changed hands again, and I wish Graham every success, hopefully the long promised upgrades etc. will be available soon. Brian (wireman).

Visit to Coleborne Thursday evening, nearly finished wiring the detection modules, next week should see all operational. Took a few photos whilst there, Nicks been playing weathering and name plate changing. First is 'Plymouth' I liked this angle although could not avoid background. Second is ' Wilton ' with new nameplate and the third is obviously very dirty 9F. I'm sure the other bloke will turn up soon for better pics.

Well it was nice to see the guys of Coleborne tonight, it's been a while since I last popped in.

Started off with having a peek at Chris Nevard's photos before they go in the magazine, as expected they are really good. Then it was onto RMweb to help Wireman with his signature and finally off to the railway room.

The layouts looking really good, and it was nice to see the framework in place for the extension. Poole boy had his re-built un-rebuilt steam train thing with sound, and it sounded good, not that I know what the real thing sounds like, but it was definitely a steam engine.

Overall a pleasant evening.

hopefully next time I'll remember the camera!

Hi Scott glad you could make it over last night, ah! the steam train thing was an unrebuilt B/B 222 Sq.

What a cracker of a layout. Is this on the Southern section of Specialist Interests? If not, it should be.

Superb signals, great looking scenics and buildings and lots of lovely SR stuff.

Totally inspiring for my new build (in very slow progress as always).

Last weeks visit to Coleborne saw the last of the storage yard detection modules connected. We can now see which tracks are selected and which are occupied. Unfortunately we don't know what is actually in there. At present, pen and paper are the order of the day, till such time as we come up with another solution. An air traffic control type ladder system showing engine numbers and train type beside the yard panel seams favourite, another could be used by the shed panel, as we can not see inside the shed from the control panel. Any other ideas welcome. Pictures show the yard panel and an overall view of all panels. Meanwhile, Nick has embarked on a programme of changing name plates on his un-rebuilt bullieds, this is not an identity change, purely cosmetic. This activity seems a little less traumatic than signal building.

Have you thought of something like a 'Go Pro' camera set up?

Wow! Those panels are something to envy in a big way. How I'd love to be able to construct something like that.

Phil

Hi Phil  the panel boxes are a stock item from R.S. the part number is 207-1537 and they measure 262 x 185 x 78 mm
