Do you mean the potato fields?

If so then they where in the May 2018 edition of the BRM.

I can always PM you a copy if you can't find it.

Is there a track plan for this layout anywhere? Beautiful work, am curious about how it's all mapped out.

Thanks

I'll be kind and save you trolling all through this this site.

Even I can't remember exactly where it is but I know where the master is!!!

Normal grid = square equals 12"

Just to say that the development behind the station is not shown as this was done for the BRM magazine prior to the houses/shop being added.

Being a gold member gave me access to it. I found the Mininatur code I need in your article. Good stuff.

Lovely picture Kevin, just enough noise on the B&W shot, any more and it would look over done.

I'm sorry, I couldn't help chipping in, if you don't like, please let me know and I'll delete it.

Thank you, Kevin, for taking the time and trouble to answer people's requests for information. I find that attitude to this wonderful hobby of ours extremely helfpul.

Looks great

Really must sit down and work out how to add smoke.

In the past I have used brush/air brush to a limited extent.

One more thing to add to my list of things to do, least I have finished creosoting the fencing (actual not model....!!!)

Brush/air brush methods are good, but usually for light smoke and steam which also looks good but with limitations, the problem is, knowing when to stop as it's so easy to get carried away when creating these effects.

Any idea where you can get creosote from? I’ve been soldiering on with this crappy water based stuff for ages and it doesn’t do the job......:D

I don't think you can get"proper" creosote anymore. You can get a substitute though, might be worth looking up your local old school hardware shop) Back when I had several large ramshackle old sheds, we used to mix creosote 50:50 with old engine oil, decant it into an old fire extinguisher (the water type that worked by pressuring it through a car tyre valve) and liberally coat a 20'x8' shed in about ten minutes.

More practical recycling!

It's not proper creosote, its substitute stuff from Wickes but it is oil based.

Smells and acts like the 'real' one, lasts for ages.

Aye, aye what's going on here then.

Been a while since one of these has been used on a passenger service.

Must be issues with the normal loco.
