Ab that’s good to hear! Today’s “just” job is to fit protective skids to the board sides. These will protect the front fascia boards which currently get badly scarred and need repainting every time before the layout goes out.,,

Mike. That's my plan with the Ipswich boards too, a "skateboard" with castors to take a pair of boards, a top to match to keep them apart and sides to prevent anything getting in and destroying the overhead. Ravensclyffe has individual flightcases for each board that have the castors built in and fully enclose the boards. Andi
RMweb Gold Phil Bullock Posted February 19 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted February 19 Funny how we all find different solutions isn’t it. The boards are stored and transported with their 5ft axis vertical …. The skids only add 1 inch to that, didn’t want to add much height in case of problems with vans. Have also avoided integral wheels… a pair of boards sits very nicely on a sack truck and goes through normal doors… the truck has balloon tyres and is very good for getting over obstacles such as door thresholds. Big test coming up….

Good evening Lord Bullock, I would have thought you had enough spare pheasants to carry the baseboards safely for you without having to find a mechanical solution. I am looking forward to your weekend peasant shoot this year, last year was so much fun watching them try and run away. 1 1

Abbotswoods new and now correct starter to Spetchley installed… 7612 heads north to Brum. No SLW 25s for Redditch unfortunately…. A new Bachmann 6875 should be on the Pensnett coke though, and @Downendians clay liner will be appearing on Saturday … back to Bachmann 9ft wheelbase wagons on Sunday. 16

No rain so fencing and telegraph poles completed on board 6. Interest is building amongst the locals especially the school kids… Mum, they shout excitedly as they come down the road … the railway man is out! They are genuinely interested ….
