Hello all,

Reading through the excellent Hunters lane thread David has shared some scenic items he’s using.

I thought I’d have a little dabble so ordered some bits, not done much but played about with the Buddleia and a few trees, the static grass matts will certainly make life easier.

They do look good! Did you find them quite quick to install - I was surprised how good they looked immediately stuck down.

David

Hi David, yes very quick indeed, I haven’t photographed the one that went in whole yet as it not ballasted etc but for instant results they are fantastic, I need to order a load more.

I’ve been separating the other one and adding it to existing scatter.

highly recommend

New arrival this week.

37402 reworked from 37558 by West Coast Models. Little bit of forward planning from me as I want 402 paired up with RevolutioN trains Caroline.

layout progress is temporarily suspended due to the heat in the loft!

Brilliant model Graham👍, I've been telling myself I definitely don't need one because it just won't be at home on my layout.........but pictures and videos like that might change my mind 😵.

The layouts really taking shape and a great backdrop to watch trains go by.

All the best,

Dave

Lovely model. Impressed that Farish has managed to get such a decent speaker in the 08 too!

Hi Jon, I’m extremely impressed, I already have a sound fitted 08, one of the first batch models which is great but not as loud or clear as this one.

Hi David, I had told myself no but I’m glad I caved in and bought one, she really is a beauty, sure it will be destined for an engineers yard or a station pilot. 😉

now the weather is a little cooler hopefully work on the layout will increase.

cheers

Hello all,

ventured into the loft today to have a tidy up and do a little work.

mocked up the canal scene to get a feel of where things are going.

need to spray the lower track and ballast, then think about the water for the canal.

new wagons tomorrow I think, reason to delay scenics and test more rolling stock! 🤪

Hello all,

A rare day off! So I’ve ventured into the loft to make a start on a large storage yard! This is a first for me, having enough space to build decent sized sidings, I’ve had a rough work out and should get 21 roads in comfortably with a return loop at the end.

It will be enclosed eventually with a purspex top to keep the dust to a minimum, although I’ll be referring to it as the Dust sidings!

That’s giving me storage yard envy!

It’s the first time I’ve ever had a decent sized storage yard in 25 yrs of modelling, really like seeing the rakes all ready to go, also got ideas for loco storage. 😉

Coming along nicely. I would recommend Polycarb(onate) over Perspex for a cover. It is stronger and more scratch resistant, which is why it is used extensively on machinery guarding.
