RMweb Premium John M Upton Posted December 29, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted December 29, 2017 Is there the usual BRM Subscribers discount on entry price please? If so, what is the correct procedure to get it to work when booking online as I well recall it has occasionally been a bit hit and miss at times. PenrithBeacon
I attended this year for the first time and the Saturday was pretty packed. Which if the two days is usually the least well attended, please? Regards
Andy Y
The Sunday is definitely quieter; especially in the morning. Towards lunchtime you'll get a few more families in and it then remains steady but comfortable during the rest of the day.
RMweb Gold bourneagain Posted December 31, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 31, 2017 Is there the usual BRM Subscribers discount on entry price please? If so, what is the correct procedure to get it to work when booking online as I well recall it has occasionally been a bit hit and miss at times. It’s shown on the booking form - use L18 followed by your subs number As there were no moans on here regarding the subscriber ticket issues for the Peterborough Show, I can only assume that these have finally been resolved. But just to be certain, I now always test out the promo codes + my subs number, when the respective booking opens, to confirm that it displays the discounted ticket prices. Meaning that when I come to purchase my tickets, I know that there shouldn`t be any issues. Does the discount apply to subscribers of other Warners magazines? I believe that you only get the discount if you are a BRM hard copy subscriber, it doesn`t apply if you are either, a digital subscriber or a subscriber to other Warner magazines. Happy and healthy New Year to all.

LNER4479
Updated layout list now available on show website: https://www.world-of-railways.co.uk/shows/show/the-london-festival-of-railway-modelling/layouts We're one of the ones that were not on the original, incomplete list. But all is well, we shall be there as originally planned. Very much looking forward to exhibiting at this iconic venue AND being athwart the very railway (ECML) that the layout depicts, albeit 80 years previously.
RMweb Premium James Makin Posted February 7, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 7, 2018 I’m looking forward to seeing The World’s End for the first time! From what I’ve seen in the magazines, it’s the layout with one of the most impressive bits of scenery on the circuit today. Who needs to look at boring trains anyway?! TEAMYAKIMA
Just to say that Twickenham MRC's new 7mm layout Addison Road will be attending. For those of you who don't know our layout Addison Road was the original name of Kensington Olympia before Olympia was built. Our layout will be operated in the style of the 1920's with both pre-grouping and early post-grouping steam in use, but also we will be running our own unique 7mm Oerlikon electric stock as used on this line. We have our own thread on RMweb in the 7mm+ forum and hope to meet many of our followers at Ally Pally. Here is a taster showing our Oerlikon stock in both LNWR and LMS liveries .................
Portpatrick
I have my E ticket so look forward to being there on the Saturday for 9.30. Only a very modest shopping list this time! More time for the layouts. Just hope there is not the snarl up on the North Circular I faced getting home 2 years ago - 2 hrs to get home to Watford. Pete Goss
THE WORLDS END layout An extraordinary situation has occurred. I find myself in need of someone to assist with erecting and dismantling the layout over the weekend, and to help run it over the weekend. My regular helper / operator is not able to come due to personal circumstances and not being part of a club I have exhausted my remaining short list of contacts. Unbelievable. It only requires 2 people to run the layout...so I have a place for one person over the weekend to help with the layout if anyone is up for it. I am arriving say mid Friday afternoon to set up. Hotel twin room is booked for Fri and Sat pm. if required etc. you can e mail me on petergoss91@hotmail.co.uk for more info or a chat. cheers Pete Goss

chrisd
Does anyone know when the first shuttle bus will be picking up from Wood Green station please? Can’t find this info on the show website. It mentions the last bus will be leaving the venue at 5:15pm but was wondering if the shuttle will get me there in time for the 9:30am advance ticket holders opening? Thanks. stewartingram
The W4 service runs from Finsbury Park station, through Ally Pally, past Wood green main line station & beyond the tube station. Useful alternative to the shuttle bus. Stewart
RMweb Gold Huw Griffiths Posted March 17, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 17, 2018 The W4 service runs from Finsbury Park station, through Ally Pally, past Wood green main line station & beyond the tube station. Useful alternative to the shuttle bus. Are you sure it isn't the W3? I hope you don't mind me checking. The only reason I'm asking is that I've used the W3 to get to and from "Ally Pally" for the last few years (and I don't think I've seen a W4 at any point on my way). Regards, Huw. chrisd
Thanks Stewart and Huw. It looks like it’s the W3 according to TfL site. Good alternative if shuttle not running that early.
