sem34090
Times have been flush, and I've had a pleasant run of bargains and gifts! Also I've sold a lot of surplus stock. 2
RedGemAlchemist
In fairness I might be going to a model railway show next month so I might well be buying a lot soon too.
sem34090
So now to show what I actually bought, most of which was from the 009 Society Sales stand at today's SWING show in Littlehampton... First up, a Golden Arrow Productions LBSCR D3 kit to fit a Hornby M7 chassis - Today's most expensive purchase. Next up... A fairly standard item - Hornby LBSCR 1922 Brake Van, ideal for my modelling period. Now onto the 009 Society purchases... A 3mm scale loco body of unknown origin which has potential for a 009 scheme I'm planning... An unknown diagram of Pre-Grouping van. Any identification is appreciated! A Bachmann LNWR G2A. Now I know I have little use for one, but I've wanted one since I read the Railway Modeller review in 2009 and this one was very cheap. And then there was this lot... An interesting selection of K's Firefly bits and some scratchbuilt chassis... these look useful... Edited May 18, 2019 by sem34090

sem34090
Ah, those are actually bashed Firefly bits! It seems the original/previous owner was looking to do some early Standard Gauge singles using the bits...
Killian keane
The fireflies and/or suns will be from the mikes models range, very nice pickup there well done
sem34090
Now to work out what to do with them! On another note, can anyone identify the red tank loco body and the white van?

sem34090
I was leaning towards GCR, but the proportions threw me into thinking it was a 4-6-2T of some kind. The almost-Stroudley cab roof also threw me, as did the LNWR-esque rear to the bunker (which is the only part I have yet to match to a 9K). Edited May 18, 2019 by sem34090 I now see that it appears the builder has combined the curved rear-plate that was used with sloped coal rails in conjunction with straight coal rails, creating a bunker not unlike that on a Webb Coal Tank. Martin S-C
I am filled with envy at that cluster of Firefly parts and such. So much potential there! 1

sem34090
I thought I would dig out my 009 stock today... The layout does have potential, and now it's indoors it might even be worked on... In case anyone's interested, this is the poster that is in the background:
RMweb Premium Northroader Posted May 23, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 23, 2019 Nice little layout, Sem. You’re doing well there, and well worth pursuing. 1
sem34090
Also, in addition to this wagon... Can anyone identify this one? Edited May 23, 2019 by sem34090 Thanks Mr Northroader, Sir!
RMweb Premium Annie Posted May 23, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted May 23, 2019 I don't know what that van is Sem, but it certainly looks interesting. Looks like the kind of thing I'd like to run on my rambling little railway empire.

I think I need a new brain, - my present one falls asleep all the time.

sem34090
If anyone's interested, this loco of mine (sold it to fund the birdcage set) has appeared on ebay - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SCR-MODELS-3D-PRINTED-LNWR-JUBILEE-CLASS-LOCO-TENDER-OO-GAUGE-LOT-G1/362658941696? sem34090
Just a little something I've been working on for my 009 layout... I uploaded it to Shapeways just to see if they would be able to print it, and as they seem to think they can I decided to make it available for sale - The version pictured is available here: https://www.shapeways.com/product/NEKVKVGYL/009-maunsell-tank-1-kato-chassis-vacuum The other versions are available here: https://www.shapeways.com/product/NN9KT43SB/009-maunsell-tank-1-kato-chassis-westinghouse https://www.shapeways.com/product/45KQCCSSM/009-maunsell-tank-1-farish-prairie-chassis-air https://www.shapeways.com/product/JGQBWAVJQ/009-maunsell-tank-1-prairie-chassis-vacuum
