sb67
Might seem a bit of a strange question but I'm doing a bit of research for a future project and I was looking for info on centre headcode class 37 that would have been allocated to Stratford depot around the late 70's, early 80's. From memory I can only recall seeing split headcode versions. I cant seem to find any pictures in the books I've got either but I'm sure they must have been some. Be grateful of any help. Thanks. Steve.
'CHARD
Class 37 info site is your friend. I knew some of the Far North machines were Great Eastern exiles, and here is just one such example: http://www.class37info.co.uk/fleet.aspx?strnumber=37263

Steve. D6959 to D6968 later 37259-37268. All originally Sheffield Darnell allocated. Easily recognisable with a single lamp iron iron above the headcode panel, no NER or WR locos had this arrangement.

RMweb Premium Clive Mortimore Posted February 14, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 14, 2018 Another little thing, they were some of the few D69xxers that had train heating boilers. Most the WR and NER locos were freight locos.

PM47079
37091 was a Stratford loco and had centre head codes both ends possibly as a result of accident damage
deltic17
My 1980 Ian Allan 'Locoshed' lists them as:- 37120,122,130,215,259-266 & as noted above 091 was also c/h. The 1981 version lists them as:- 37121,122,130,215,245,246,259-266,283 & 091. ..(looks like 121 was swopped with 120 with 245,246 & 283 added over the year).
