DonB
https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00jv72t Download link to episode of "REEL HISTORY" series being run by the Beeb currently.. Today's episode was titled "Black Diamonds" about coal mining in S.Wales, but featuring a preserved Mine shaft which has a striking resemblance to your model, it shows the structure and gates surrounding the Cage which you may find useful. With my nit-picking hat on, and hoping not to offend, I felt that the lack of protection around the cage was the only feature missing in a superb atmospheric model. I hope to get to the NEC to see it. Best wishes, Don

Mike
Getting everything ready for Warley when BAM!!!!! layout slipped and the screens building ended up as a kit of parts. After burning the midnight oil it is back together, but will be fitted once the layout is set up on Friday at the show. Isn't life a bowl of nail clippings.

RMweb Premium ColinK Posted November 29, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 29, 2018 Hi Mike, can I as how you made the backscene, ie ply, MDF, hardboard etc and is it braced. The reason for asking is that I am building a G scale indoor layout and the backscene will need to be quite high and not warp. Thanks.
Mike
Hi, Colin the backscene is hardboard and is braced with 25mm x 12mm pine strip with the 12mm against the board. Hope that helps. cheers Mike
