Blue Max
Was anything further ever reported on the Model Rail survey to identify their next commissioned loco, it included interesting subjects such as a Jones Goods, a Vale of Rheidol loco, 15xx and 16xx loco’s amongst 6 others. It all seems to have gone very quiet on the subject?

dibber25
I haven't gotten to take the survey, any chance I still can? Sorry, I'm afraid it closed a while back. The choices have now been made, so the outcome wouldn't change. (CJL)

Blue Max
My money is on the Vale of Rheidol loco also, especially as Ben Jones previously of Model Rail has now joined Heljan I have noticed today. With Heljan's steps into the narrow gauge market with the L&B loco albeit faltering at first, I am sure this will be improved with the next batch giving them a good base to move on to the V of R loco. Time will tell

Steamport Southport
It was actually posted on RM Web, well at least thats where I found it and responded to the survey. Not officially though. The cool kids were sent a link. To be honest I forget what was even in it and can't remember what I ticked apart from panniers. I did pick the Rheidol tank in it's proper livery of BR Blue though. Time will tell That did occur to me, only thing though is V o R rolling stock, Re the MW I reckon the NEW version will be OK ( For the record I bought THREE OF THEM! all of which failed in the valve gear dept.) In fact the actual chassis of the MW was very good it was only the Valve gear issue and the strange way that power collection to the pony wheelsets was arranged which were the main issues. I will have no hesitation in buying at least one MW when they eventually turn up
Steamport Southport
Vale Of Rheidol rolling stock? *cough* Look at page 56 of the current magazine. Jason

Jason I'd buy one of those, as anyone who gets the free BRM Express newsletter will already know (https://www.world-of-railways.co.uk/brm/information/rail-blue-steam-by-phil-parker?utm_source=Communicator&utm_medium=Email&utm_content=buttonLink34&utm_campaign=BRM+Express+jumps+aboard+heritage+railways&_ccCt=usg%7e%7e0zWfBj3DjNYsvnSTevYXmr%7ecKvMLQWWlx7qrzx61qshe5usYf%7egqpRqXqVn) Can I have it in 7mm scale please?

Jason But would that be plain BR blue with white BR arrows ? https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8633/15821629600_346e507da1_b.jpg Or how about lined BR blue with brass logos ? https://www.bing.com/images/search?view=detailV2&ccid=N9w%2bULvH&id=41E8D5283F8539E5E182BBA31BD4F72A540CB018&thid=OIP.N9w-ULvHlgAoZSQvONZhGQHaE6&mediaurl=https%3a%2f%2fthebeautyoftransport.files.wordpress.com%2f2015%2f03%2f8656039010_77747ec0ef_z.jpg&exph=424&expw=640&q=vale+of+rheidol+loco&simid=608000112462465831&selectedIndex=53&ajaxhist=0 The bigger problem of course would be do you produce the model in preprivatisation condition with small cab and conventional tanks, or the higher cab and air pump version ? I always preferred them in BR condition but the cabs were very cramped indeed
Steamport Southport
The problem I had with the VOR was when growing up my dad used to always refuse to go there on family trips as it wasn't a "proper" narrow gauge railway as it was BR. He's still got the same view when it comes to the Snowdon Mountain Railway in that's not a preserved line. He never had a problem going to the Welsh Highland even though it was just a diesel that went up and down the yard. Jason

9402 Fredrick
Two classes I'm hoping were on the survey are the George Englands and Double Fairlies as I'd love those two in R-T-R form.
Steamport Southport
Two classes I'm hoping were on the survey are the George Englands and Double Fairlies as I'd love those two in R-T-R form. They weren't. So you can rule those out. From Model Rail at least. Maybe someone else has already "claimed" them. The only narrow gauge on the list were the VoR tanks. dibber25
For the avoidance of disappointment, it's not a Docklands Light Railway carriage, and it might have been one of these, but that was derailed earlier!
