RMweb Gold Ramblin Rich Posted October 8, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 8, 2023 Today (8th October 2023). Mist at Dawlish. The trains to Okehampton were running up from Paignton instead of starting from Exeter Central, evidently due to the Exmouth line being closed. This shows the 10..07 departure with 150 219 leading a 4 car rake ...disappearing into the mist 17

eastwestdivide
A Northern 150 passing Booth’s scrapyard in Rotherham alongside the newly-painted badgers on the ramp to the canal towpath. They recently did some flood defence work and at the same time prettied up that part of the canal.

This is often the only non passenger DMU to traverse the Hereford line all year! Though to be fair we had a 66 on a track renewal train as far as Malvern Link recently! 1

Thanks for identifying that unit. I was going to ask if anyone could say what it was, but the slowness of the internet defeated me. Anyway, here is a closer view.
RMweb Gold 4630 Posted October 26, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 26, 2023 With the feather to take the 'Down Fast', a South Western Railway class 158 accelerates away from Eastleigh on 25th September 2023 with a service from Romsey to Salisbury, via Eastleigh and Southampton Central.
eastwestdivide
Side-on: an East Mids 222 on a St Pancras train passing the construction work on the new platform at Dore 28 Oct 2023. Spending a little while there showed why they need the redoubled track - a little bit of late running and everything got in the way of everything else!

Another waste of money the tactile paving on the disused dock on the right and now they have fenced it off !
RMweb Gold Ramblin Rich Posted October 29, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 29, 2023 (edited) Late afternoon today (29/10/2023) walkers contemplate the rough seas and ignore 150 202 and 150 246 as they approach Teignmouth at 15.55 The low sun highlights the yellow end as the train curves in towards the station (Yes it's a 3/4 view!) Ben B
Something a bit different... Both Pacer sets in operation at the KWVR last weekend; the right-hand set, the 'spare' was very unusually in passenger service, and in a simple but effective bit of re-livery work for the event. And newly repainted, the 101, in rail blue.
Ben B
Some more from the Worth Valley; the Pacer out on the Beer and Music Festival. Myself and Elder Child went out for some night shots after I finished work. Lovely atmosphere up at Oakworth. She was doing some night documentary pics in greyscale, I thought I'd have a play with long-exposures. A second attempt at a shot I did during the festival last year; the sky was better last time, but the shot was steadier this year as I had a better tripod. 14 1

CWJ
A pair of 170s on a Liverpool-Norwich service this afternoon, seen departing from Manchester Piccadilly: Last time I checked this route was operated entirely by 158s, so I mustn't have been paying attention recently!
